"Couldn't hold on to their PL place. Couldn't even hold on to their Championship place. Disastrous managerial appointments clutching at straws like someone in the grab-a-grand box."

If Arsie thinks Albion have never been relegated, he needs to check the history books...

Perhaps go to the chapter entitled "The Talbot Years"... Or various seasons since.

Couldn't agree more with the OP. Any club that hasnt won a major trophy for 36 years must be considered a failure.

That's not what I said.

Who said Albion have never been relegated? The difference is Albion learned from those years under Talbot, whereas Wolves suffered under the Onion Bahji brothers in the 1980s and still made the same mistake thirty years later under Morgan and Moxey, becoming the only club (and here I Love Butt can check the Guinness Book of Records) to do the Double Drop from top division to third division in successive seasons twice.

He might also note that Albion since 2000 have always been promoted straight back to the Premier League the next season. One wonders when Wolves will ever see the Premier League again, or indeed whether they will, they are so badly run.

On another note I met a Wolvo guy in a pub on Sukhumvit Soi 4,Bangkok last month.I said to him "Oh you're from Wolvo, there's a Wolves bar called 'The Crossbar' here you know?"
He said "I know,I'm the owner"!
I didn't tell him who I was,he wouldn't have known anyway but I did tell him I'd been promoting his bar on here to you guys,no idea if he believed me or not?
------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you tell him you support Birmingham City, and did a look of pity and incredulity cross his face? Or was he nonplussed because he'd never heard of Birmingham City? You could have jogged his memory by mentioning your jailbird chairman Carson Yeung, and then he would have recognised you.
Has Gianfranco Zola been sacked and replaced yet?
And are you still pretending you live in Thailand when everyone knows you really live in Alum Rock?

At least you've stopped copying that Irons fan off 606 !

If you did your homework Halfwit, you would discover that it was I, the great Baggieman, who originally introduced the terminology "This is" and "That was The Baggieman" at the initial creation of this site and indeed ''twas i who had used it for many years on the old BBC 606.

The Dingle Dunces cap and corner of the room for you Halfwit !

I believe the Mysterons were doing well before the inception of BBC 606.

Good bite though.

You may have 'introduced' it to this wonderful site at its inception, but you stole it from the Irons fan off of 606. Unfortuanly for you, my wolf like senses picked up on this and duly brought it to general knowledge of the many posters on my wonderful and insightful match threads (next instalment available on Saturday am folks, all welcome).

Whilst I could see that you was in dire need of a charisma injection, copying sombody else in a effort for attention was surely not the forward and you've rightfully now dropped it from you comment posts, so well done for that

Just try to be yourself, I'm sure you can rustle up something original ?

You Halfwit and Seaside Wolfe are really stupid Dingle SillyBilly's.

I became a member of the old BBC 606 following its conception in 2003 and introduced the handle "This is" back then. It's flattering that a lower league supporter should emulate their Baggie superiors.

If as Seaside Dingle says the "This is....." came long before the introduction of BBC 606, how would you know that if it didn't exist?

Typical Dingle uneducated examples of thickness methinks.

Sorry I didn't mean to embarrass you, just wanted to point out that you copied the Irons fan back in the day, so there's no need to feel awkward around the Wolves board.

I don't blame you for trying to add some comedy to your comments though, they are rather dull

Why don't you try something like 'Hi-de-Hi Baggies' as an introduction to your drivel ?

Only a thick,dull-as-ditchwater,Sandwellian gimp could possibly think that having to remind himself who he is every time he posts is something to brag about!

sorry just trying to expand on yr thoughts on our club aries. so failing to win any kind of silverware for 35 years, or even longer, ISN'T a clear sign that a club is a failure?

I always imagine the point of football competitions is to win something. or at least maybe to reach the odd final. given yr obvious interest in wolves and all things to do with our club, why wouldn't you want to concentrate on the most important aspect: our side's failing to win any of the league, fa cup, or league cup for 36 years as the biggest sign of our team being a failure???

Neither of our clubs are,in any sense of the word, failures. Success is measured in different terms these days to the extent that money has enabled several clubs to become a league within a league and scoop up most of the regular prizes. Premier league titles,FA Cup wins are much more of a closed shop now. The Leicester cities of this world are rare.
We are both proud clubs with great histories. I understand the need and fun in banter but I find, I have the utmost respect for anyone in this region who supports their local clubs. We should not be bickering with each other when there are so many Black country folk who support Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd etc.

alouion,

wise words - whisper it around some on these boards but I don't actually have any dislike for WBA, saving most of my bile for the likes of yawnited and liverpale. for those of us not born into supporting a sky sponsored 'big' club, or with enough maturity and self-confidence not to jump ship and join the ranks of the plastiques just to fit in at scool/work, we are really playing in a league to finish between 9th and 30th each season. with the possible highlight of a run to the semis in one of the cups before getting beaten by the £100m reserve squad of man city or chelsea.

the sad fact is that any side outside of that top 7 or 8 in the prem runs the risk every season of being in a relegation battle. and as managers like pulis and allardyce prove most years, the difference in that lower half is a little bit of managerial nouse and a tried and tested system.

I make no bones about it, I am a Baggie because I was born closer to them. If not, I would be proud Wolves fan. We are living the dream at the moment but as your comment indicates, being outside those top 7 clubs is a precarious existence. Any slight deterioration in form and we are down.

Totally agree with you lads. It's easy to be a pot-hunter and support the media favourites but where would football be without the real supporters local to their teams? They are the life-blood and the bearers of tradition. If I had been born outside the Black Country and nearer to Wolves, Villa or Blues, I would have supported the nearest team.
Jumping about a bit, our neighbours missed out on Callum McManaman, letting Sheffield Wednesday (another "proper" club, in my mind) pinch him. I thought he would have been ideal for any of the locals and Wolves supporters, particularly, would have lapped him up.

I remember Blues winning a trophy. Like Coventry City all of history is wrapped up in one day. Makes it easier only having to remember one day when you recall the glory times I guess

It's the cockneys, mancs and scousers who get my goat. I can stand them.

But worst of all are people who support those clubs yet live miles and miles away.

Support your local clubs!!!!

Talking of Blues...have they won a game since they 'bettered' themselves and sacked whatsisname?

It would be delightful retribution if after the undeserved sacking of Rowett and appointing Johnny Foreigner, if Birmingham City continued on a downward spiral ending with them fighting off relegation.
