Well regardless of them feilding an ineligable player, with the fact you couldnt beat them, can you say you deserved to be there?

Yeah but come, regardless, you should have had enough to do the buisness against sion surely? They are not exactly a good side here.

Stretty,

put your fishing rod away.

They aren't a good side. Neither are we though.

Nightmare, I best be getting a refund as quickly as they took the cash out of my account. If we are out then the blame falls squarely at big disaster dans feet. Fair enough we should have beaten them at home but thats football even the best in the world get beat by lesser teams and we should know cause it was usually us that beat them. But to get sent off in 40 secs because he wasnt holding the line and taking out a player is unforgivable. Even if they had scored one goal took us through. At the end of the day the games in the EL were pure entertainment value as its been a while since we have had a team of athletico calibre in a competitive match, its the title we should be focusing on for Champions league football next year.

Stretty - the guy that score the 2 goals in the 2nd leg shouldnt have been playing. If Chelsea signed a player during their transfer ban and this player scored the winning goal in the last game of the season against you to win the league would you just say "Ah well, we shouldve been better" or would you not question the fact that this player shouldnt have been there in the first place?

We shouldve been better and beaten Sion, thats not the point, they broke the rules. In the first leg we were missing our best defender, our best midfielder and our best striker. We were poor and Sion played like scoring a goal wasnt in their plans. In the second leg we conceded a penalty and were down to 10 men inside 50 seconds. It was actually pretty annoying as we could see how poor a side they were. But imagine how poor a side they wouldve been without the 5 players they signed and played against us when they werent supposed to. Rules are there for a reason and they broke them.

Tim You can never be to sure when Fifa and Uefa are involved. They are popularity gauges. Which ever chairman squeels the loudest usually gets the goose.

I hear you Davie,

And if Sion were reinstated I would not really bother. The main losers will be our board, and they don't deserve Europe after another season of under investment.

But. Look at what Platini, Blatter et al have said. Lots of backtracking required to change the decision.

Also, Madrid, Rennes and Udinese will automatically claim 3-0 victories over Sion. Farce in the making.

Finally,Celtic have cannily went down the legal precedent route. Can of worms opened if Sion get in.

Hmm Interesting points Tim.

I wouldnt be too bothered if we got put out, but jesus its been a long time since Ive seen a decent European night at Parkhead. The Sion home match was dire and the crowd were in bad tune. We always seem to step up our game when the big sides come calling .Especially when the players know what it means to play for The hoops. Fortune n'guemo and the rest of Mowbarys flops where shocking for us in europe. God Sammy was our best player the last time we where in the group stages of the EL. Says it all really.

I foresee a struggle in each game Davie. Unless they play like they did at Ibrox last season, which they just might.

I also think Lennon will play it cagey, both tactically and in terms of personnel. The league will always be the priority this season. Europe really is just a bonus this year, as we don't deserve to be there in a footballing sense imo.
