Wouldn't mind seeing Origi become a makeshift replacement for the absence of Mane, he's got the pace and workrate to replicate what Mane has been doing for us.
Plus anyone think Gini's smile is just as infectious as Klopps laugh? Happy dressing room 👍
Origi kept losing the ball yesterday and couldn't hold the ball. He has pace but not not the skills of Firmino, Mane or Sturridge. As I said Sturridge should play when Mane and Coutinho are not playing
What are you on about?
Origi is an excellent player. Kept it in the corner frustrating the hell out of city and the boy has skills. Not sure if you've actually watched him play.
Gini unfortunately is nothing like Alonso.
He's not like Alonso but I agree with your article completely. Very important for us.
Origi is absolutely brilliant for a player his age. Obviously he's not perfect and he frustrates me too sometimes but he is already a very astute player who has the best ever conditions and opportunities to flourish into a beast.
People forget that Origi is still one for the future. Shouldn't be compared with the likes of Studge just yet.
Not sure how you can't be a fan of Milner either, the guy was brilliant yet again yesterday.
Up against one of the fastest players around in Sterling yesterday but had him in his pocket. Just goes to show you don't need to be quick as long as you read the game well. When you've played football for 15 years and his experience you spot the danger easily and limit it effectively. A concept completely alien to Moreno unfortunately.

I think most people feel wiji ia an important player for us. He transitions the play with superb efficiency form midfield to attack and gets in the challenges. I thought he would be played as a more attacking player but I think his current role he is even better. Once he gets more goals as well he is going to be another player the opposition will have to worry about
Milner has been outstanding for us, he's learned to play left back in a couple of months, Moreno has had his whole career.
Just goes to show who has, and who doesn't have, a footballing brain.

I said he was my man of the match. His passing was good. Defended very well.

This is a very strange article. So much is wrong that i wonder if it is a wum.
-------
So if my opinion is not the same as yours then it's a wum article. I gave some positive points on Wijnaldum Firmino Sturridge and Milner but think it's not the time play Origi ahead of Sturridge. Origi is still learning and I know why Klopp plays him instead of Sturridge.
Origi is quality. Seems to fly under the radar with opposition fans too. Firmino last night was well off the pace, gave the ball away plenty of times. The thing with Bobby though is that he works like a terrier to recover possession so even when he's not on fire he still has a positive net effect.

Possibly the only similarity I can see between Alonso and Wij is they have a habit of playing a quick pass that finds a man in space. Quick footballing brains and vision. Beyond that they're nothing alike imo.
Milner, I have no idea why anyone wouldn't like him. He came to us, apparently, because he wanted to play CM. He's now playing LB and doing so extremely well. He plays with dedication and 100% effort game after game, he might make mistakes but it won't be due to lack of effort. Not sure how you can fault that? And his penalties are rock solid!
Origi I like and see his qualities but his decision making at times is pretty bad. As such he does give the ball away at times, or attacks do break down with him. Think it was Fergie when talking about Ronaldo that said the last thing a young player learns is the right ball to play. Origi will get there.
The above said, I'd still play Sturridge against Sunderland. They'll pack the defence and Danny is still out best finisher.
Wij has been class for us so far this season. He goes about his business under the radar and helps the pressing game we play. In fact I've been impressed by both him and Henderson in the middle this season.
OP I think you're being a bit harsh on Origi. He nearly got in behind City's defence about 3 or 4 times when he came on. I thought he played well.

Totally agree. Good summary
How can anyone not like hamez Maldini?
I'd be starting origi, sturridge and mane against Sunderland. Let's be honest, our front line interchanges enough that it doesn't really matter who is actually on the team sheet.
Origi frustrates me an awful lot. He's incredibly casual with the ball at his feet and i think he slows our attack down through this.
On the counter yesterday he had the ball and Wij makes a gut busting run from about 20-30 yards behind to overlap him down the right and he just completely blocked his run; forcing Wij inside. This narrowed the space and then he just hit a hopeless shot into the City defence. If he lets Wij overlap it gives him the option of the pass and more space to take a shot/run at the defence.
He's not even close to Alonso in ability or style of play (but I do like him). And Rafa didn't want Barry instead of Alonso.
And Origi is a beast who's still a kid. He's a fantastic signing.
Yes that just shows how young he still is. It will come.
Show me a perfect 21 year old striker. He puts in a shift, pulls his weight and scores goals. What more do we want at this point in time?
