best chance is to hammer bolton down the wings and, with our wide players, I feel we can over-run them as long as we keep playing fluid attacking football. At times last year I think we went a little negative and I think having Young in there will be a great advantage away from home.
Hope De gea drops more of his shots.

Pretty sure he would know the difference between a football and a beachball though

If our central midfield struggles to hold on to possession, then we will again struggle away from home this season.
I'd be surprised if we don't create more chances with Young and Cleverly in the team.
As much as I hate to admit it, I am worried for for De Gea. This is the first tesm we are facing a team who pump the ball into the box and crowd the 6 yard box.
Arsenal, WBA, Tottenham and even City like to play the ball on the ground.
I remember him conceding 3 goals where he didn't so much as get to the ball, but don't recall him dropping any shots.
Anyway, Rafa, shouldn't you be on your own board looking forward to what Delap, Crouch and Jones are going to do to Calamity Ken's jokers this weekend?

Did you watch the west Brom game? All they did was target the keeper with high balls
Yeh if he has another shocker there will be a number people calling for his head.
I think attack will be the best form of defence in this game - its pretty cliche but the longer the game stays at 0-0 or even 1-0 the nervier we will get and end up dropping deeper and deeper

Agree. Also the itll be interesting to see how Jones fare against Davis. Tough game, Itll be very difficult if Rio and Vidic not available.

Last year we had Carrick and Gibson occupying the midfield slots all too often in away games. Is no surprise we struggled
-----------------
Carrick was first choice midfielder last season and we won the league by 9 points.
We may be better going forward with Cleverley instead of Carrick but we are certainly weaker defesively.
Carrick and Cleverley are different type players and to single Carrick out as a reason for the teams poor showing away is ridiculous
There are several reasons why we are better going forward
Ando and Rooney are on fire as is Welbeck and Young gives us natural attacking width of the left.
Let's ignore all that though and just blame Michael Carrick

But Frgie won't be changing a winning team, as per comments earlier today
Does anyone actually believe anything Fergie says?
hes the master of mind games, Evans? Rio? Smalling? Any one of these 3 could partner Jones at CB on Saturday.
Personally Id go for Jones and Ferdinand at CB and Smalling at RB as we need tall players for set pieces. Plus, choosing Rio over Evans should be the easiest decision ever no?

At last, someone who appreciates Carrick. All this Carrick hate is ridicules. His role is not scoring and creating chances, its to guard the back 4. Accusing Carrick for not scoring goals is equivalent to saying VDS doesnt score that much.
Although Cleverley and Ando played well so far their style makes us defensively weak. I think Carrick will play most away matches.
ps
I think rio will play if he is available. Evans and Jones against Davis could be disastrous
Do people feel Cleverly and Anderson CM will suffice here? Against West Brom, they got overrun and sturggled with the defensive side of the game.
Plus, our side is going to lack height here? Hernandez, Rooney, Young, Nani, Anderosn, Cleverly, Evra....all tiny
Maybe Carrick should play?
wierd thing about last seasons away form is that although it was a bit ropey in the Premier League, we had our best away form ever in the Champions League with 5 away wins and a draw leading up to the final.
I really hope we play 2 strikers, i really feel that we didnt have a go at teams enough last year away from home. I could even see fergie giving giggsy a run in there tomorrow although I honestly cant guess it!
