After last nights win we shouldn't fear anyone

It's always nice to beat Chelsea but the way we went about it was absolutely brilliant.

I'm all fairness to the Chelsea board most of them have been gracious in defeat.

Conte says we could win the league.

Wanyama was an absolute beast! Him and Dembele absolutely schooled Kante and Matic.

I must also say reading comments on here last night the Chelsea fans were very gracious in defeat and made some top comments

Dele Alli's goals were crucial but imo the MOM was Wanyama, the way he (along with Dembele) broke up Chelseas play was crucial in them only mustering a few tame shots and reverting to the long ball towards the end of the game

he was a boss.....he's a lot better on the ball than I thought also.

him and 'bele at the bade of that attack is so hard to break down....gives players like alli and eriksen the freedom ro roam and only really focus on going forward.

Hi Spurs fans and chronic

Love this formation but what I love more is how very adaptable our players can be.

We could switch between 2 or 3 different formations while the game is happening which is testiment to poch.

Hopefully a good fa cup run will happen this season too

Wanyama is our new Graham Roberts for the current era. A hard man who can play a bit. Nowadays you can't go in with the kind of tackles Robbo used to make, and Victor sails close to a card most games. The only thing Robbo had a bit more of was goals, he was also a leader with a voice on the field. Every successful English team has had this kind of player - Souness, Roy Keane, Makelele etc.

West Brom now becomes a huge game. Poch hasn't defeated Pulis as a manager, West Brom are a bogey side, and this fixture last season is where it all started to come crashing down with that awful 1-1 draw at the business end, and Alli getting a straight red card.

Dele was dealt with retrospectively and not dismissed during the match!

Think he meant more about the consequences of his suspensions as opposed to impacting the outcome of the match against WBA

I still feel at times a back 3 with Viccy dubz and Bele is a bit negative against the real dross sides like Hull & Stoke etc. Could easily drop the Kenyan for Winks and have a bit more attacking intent

Excellent performance from him. Made Kante look like a Kunte.

Very good signing.

They bullied both Matic and Kante.

Great win lads Fair play for halting the Chelsea run and making the league much more interesting, loads of football to play and IMO any top 6 side can win it.

Wonderful defensive performance yesterday

I just want to make the point that 3-4-3 is not new to this league. In fact, Pochettino played it all throughout last season when we were in possession of the ball:

----Alderweireld-Dier-Vertonghen
Walker----Dembele-Eriksen------Rose
-----------Lamela--Kane---Alli

Of course Conte has developed it into a defensive structure as well, but Spurs had great success in this set-up throughout last year.

When we had possession, Dier dropped in between the CBs and Toby and Vert split.
Walker and Rose have always been key attacking outlets, as have been all our fullbacks since the Redknapp era.
Eriksen played a deeper role in most matches, picking the ball up in the middle and dictating the play.
Lamela, Alli and Kane were very fluid and all took turns in leading the line.

I think it's interesting how the media are only just picking up on this. I watch a lot of NFL and in my experience the US media are far better at analysing team tactics than Sky or BT in the UK

Over here 'match analysis' always focusses on controversial refereeing, goals and chances. I think it would be far more interesting to look at team shape in defence/attack and how coaches change this depending on the opponent or circumstance. Neville et. al have work to do before providing real insight in my opinion.

I think the most impressive thing about your display lady night was the defence. I'd normally back my team to score but I just couldn't see it last night. The defence had numbers and organisation.

The key of course is getting that transition in numbers into attack, in that regards Rose was exceptional.
