Yeah, it probably was. We converted to DVD pretty late anyway. I remember my ps2 was the only DVD player in the house, but I never told anyone as I knew they'd use it all the time 😂

Sony gambled with the PS2 having a DVD player, meant they were selling at a loss due to how expensive DVD players were in 2000.

Clearly paid off though.

Correct, discontinued in 2013.

Lasted 13 years which is amazing for a console.

My uncle got me a chipped one from abroad for about 20 quid. Could play copied games on it, good times.

I still have it actually. Never letting it go, can't be too many of them around.
