Be great if we could get another premier league team who aren't very good at football. How about Hull City, we owe them one.

I'm hoping we get Rochdale at home so we can find the next new star and I can't wait to see this Savies in the flesh.

Unless I've totally misunderstood the joke, Liverpool play Plymouth.

I was thinking next round, Desi, so Scouse doesn't have far to travel

Away at Plymouth

1984 and all that

1984 - Dark Times - no thanks AJ. Went to both games, don't want to ever be there again. Even if we did stay alive at the end of it.

Much easier to get tickets for Wigan, (probably impossible for me to get a ticket if we were to draw Liverpool at Anfield).

I went to both games as well Peeder. They're kind of engraved in my memory.

I last went to Plymouth about 4 years ago and they were still selling the video (DVD) of the game against Derby in the Club shop.!!!!

So did I! And I agree. Who scores from a corner??!

I went to both games. I was playing footy in Bristol on the morning of the first leg and persuaded the ref to shorten the game by 20 minutes to give time to get to Home Park. For the second leg I queued for the Popside and got in at about 30 minutes. I didn't find out we were losing until half time.

Any other 'Plymouth 1984 memories.'

I just remember being cooped up in the back of my Dad's Vauxhall Cavalier, tootling down the M5 amougst a steady flow of cars and coaches decked out in black & white scarves and flags etc.
I recall leaving home about 9am and getting to the ground at 2:30pm barely able to move because of all the Derby fans.
I still say Steve Cherry got a touch on the shot that hit the post - then the other post.

I remember we were lucky to get a draw in the first leg but Dave Watson should have won it with a good chance late on. We were happy as there was no way that we would mess up the replay. We knew we were heading for the semi-final.

Vidal

We went to the two Plymouth games together didn't we? The away game in my clapped out old Escort and the home game in your Beetle?

Anyway I remember the away game being totally dire (almost as bad as the Cardiff 0-0 at home we "reminisced" about a while back on here) but I thought when the ball hit both of Cherry's posts before coming back out again that our name was on the Cup that year, especially as the draw had been kind to us that season (Forest at home in an earlier round was the hardest game we had, on paper).

How wrong I was when the goal went straight in from the corner in the replay FFS

View I have sent your confession to the DPP. They are keen on historical cases at the moment. Expect a knock on the door anytime.

A home tie to a decent Prem club or I would like to go up the Ar5e, I haven't done that since my 20s. It was different in those days.
