The Prem fixture congestion is an absolute joke. Ridiculous. Liverpool played Sunderland on the 2nd of January and then have to play their next Premier League match just a fortnight later. Other leagues have a two week break or so between league fixtures over winter, and play meaningless cup games between those to allow their best players to rest. This is something we need to introduce here in England. We’d never get a two week break with only meaningless cup games in between.

Got Plymouth away second leg you wum how can you say they just get easy home fixtures they should get through when they were thrown up Plymouth away in the Cup. A long away trip they’d definitely want to have avoided if they could. You absolute WUM.

Do agree we often get the second leg at home but that's the luck of the draw and not something unique to Liverpool so not sure your point stands.
I'm not blaming the cups for anything I'm asking when we are so close to a league cup final, very well placed in the league to challenge are reds happy to play a young side again and potentially go out, and if that happens but we are in the league cup final how annoyed would you be with the fa cup exit?

Last season we had a ridiculous injury crisis, so obviously the FA Cup was the lowest priority, and we got a tough draw in a decent West Ham side (but still took them to the last minute of ET with a reserve side).
This season we are better off injury wise, but the fixtures have given us huge games against Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs this month, and our progress in the league cup (with not particularly strong sides firmed up to now) leave us only two games from another final, which obviously pushes that above the FA Cup.
We have got kinder draws in the cup this time though, so should be able to progress to the last 16 even with weakened teams (or a better chance of doing so than last season).
I'm am sure if we are still in the FA Cup at that stage we will start to field stronger teams if the opponent warrants it, but right now it doesn't suit us to do so.
You have to manage the squad, and Klopp has lots of experience of this from his Dortmund days when they were regularly competing for the title, and in Europe, and trying to win the DFB Pokal.
I am happier with Klopp doing the rotating than with Rodgers for example, who didn't have that experience.
I dont get even remotely interested in the facup until around quarters so couldn't care less if we went out. Saying that though our youth should still bear Plymouth and i wont be complaining if we do

As said above. Our reserves should be good enough to beat Plymouth and wolves. On Sunday, that origi goal counts and we win by about 4 Imo. We were never uncomfortable for a moment.
Get through those two games and the league cup is already finished. From therein you can concentrate on the FA cup.
Let's be honest, the early rounds of any cup, european included, are purely about getting through, however narrow the margin. You do the bare minimum.

Domestic trophies are for small clubs or mega rich. If you're in the middle like Arsenal, Liverpool and potentially Spurs they should be fooooked off.
13/14 we lost in the LC 3R and FA 5th? After the FA loss we THEN went on that winning run before Gerrards slip.
Leicester did well in the domestic trophies last year - that must have helped their title challenge....
Oh, no. They were out of both domestic cups by January. (FA 3R - LC 4R)
I've always thought the league cup a good trophy to win. In fact it always annoyed me a little that. Fergie didn't always take it seriously. There aren't many trophies to play for, it's early in the season and a win takes pressure off and sets you up.
