To be fair, I am genuinely interested in how Amartey performs. He's playing centre half for Ghana, an area where we're short at Leicester and probably looking for a young player in that role. He's played in centre mid this season but I wonder whether that's really where his future lies.
Frank coming on what looks like a badly injured Baba Rahman.

My point exactly
Got to say I admire DJ's football watching ability, some of these African games have to test the concentration of any die hard football fan. Abysmal entertainment is the norm.
Only in the sense that I'm interested in how Leicester players are doing. But it's more than simply hoping he doesn't get injured. I'm interested as a kind of scouting report.

DJ other than you with your immense knowledge of football, does anybody really care about AfCon anymore?
I really don't!
Africans I would imagine.

I think so. But I think most Africans have filtered me
The day I start caring about the AFCON is the day I watch too much football.

Agree entirely.
Used to watch ACON, long ago, perhaps from 2006-2010. Gave up on it, the quality was getting worse, tournament by tournament.
Watching teams with midfields filled with defensive midfielders is not going to be fun.
Another 0-0 ffs
Paint drying comes to mind.

I'm excited for it. Watching football is fun. It's slightly different being at uni though as I have more free time than people who work

Yep. For comparison in the euros only 1 of the opening 8 matches was a draw (England). There were 15 goals in the first 8 euros matches whereas there have been 12 so far. Step up your game Africa
To test your memories, can you name the scores and goalscorers for the opening 8 euros games? The fixtures were:
1. France v Romania
2. Albania v Switzerland
3. Wales v Slovakia
4. England v Russia
5. Turkey v Croatia
6. Poland v Northern Ireland
7. Germany v Ukraine
8. Belgium v Italy
If anyone could name all the goalscorers then I will declare that they know TOO many football stats
Tbf the Euros were diluted in quality so mismatches more common whereas Africa is a pretty even confederation.
1. France v Romania 2-1
2. Albania v Switzerland 0-1
3. Wales v Slovakia 1-0
4. England v Russia 1-1
5. Turkey v Croatia 0-1
6. Poland v Northern Ireland 1-0
7. Germany v Ukraine 2-0
8. Belgium v Italy 0-2
Was in Benidorm on a stag so missed some and was a bit blurry for others.
Right apart from Wales Slovakia
Payet and Giroud scored for France.
Schar for Swiss?
Bale for Wales
Dier for England
Think it was Milky for Poland
Mustafi got one for Germany
Pelle got one of Italies I think.
