He's been Boro's best attacking player this season. Would be crazy if they sold him. Would be stupid for him to leave considering how long it's taken him to find a club that gets the best out of him
Has always had a lot of potential and is very good technically which we lack. However some would say he has never fulfilled his potential we would be his 4th Premier League club!
Boro are odds on to sign Bojan so it could be true
Isn't he a bit of a "Mahrez" type player? Is it an indication the latter may be off soon? If not, I'm not sure where Ramirez would fit in.
He's another option and a replacement for Schlupp, that's where he fits in.
I'm not sure he's a replacement for Schlupp as such, not in terms of type of player anyway. Schlupp's all about pace and power, this guy is surely more of a playmaker? From what I know of him, I'd agree with Cosby in that he's more of a Mahrez-type player. We'd be using the Schlupp money to pay for him though.
I can't say I'm overly keen myself given his history and Middlesbrough's lack of attacking bite, although he would potentially fit into a variety of systems. Also, is he willing to apply himself and put in a high work rate? Because that's what we've been lacking this season and needs to change.

I didn't mean a like for like replacement, I meant replacing him in the squad. We've got Musa and Gray as our pacy players, Albrighton and Chilwell who can cross a ball but only Mahrez with any flair so signing Ramirez would give us a second option.
I remember he looked good against us, better than I thought he was going to be. When I saw his name on the team shee I didn't think he'd cause us any problems but he did. Other than that I can't say I've ever noticed him.
This is a little bit underwhelming as I’ve never really seen him as a stand out player. I do, however, think that we could really do with someone who could play as a no.10 as it will give us more options with different formations. If he were just coming as another winger then that would suggest that we’re giving up on one of the current crop.
I don’t really see this as very likely to be honest as, given our relative positions in the league, I’m not sure that Middlesbrough will allow him to go in January and it’s not like we’ve got the big draw of being high up the league. To give this some perspective, if £10m was a realistic figure, he’d be £2m cheaper than Jeffrey Schlupp.
Joby - There are rumours that the player himself is asking to leave, which may push things through. There are also rumours that Middlesbrough are in for Bojan from Stoke. So I think this is possible, but we'll have to wait and see.
For £10m I'd rather sign Cafu, he looks amazing so out of the two gambling on the unknown would be more exciting.
we have lawrence scoring 4 goals for Ipswich in the last 2 games . might be worth a try by bringing him back. What we need most of all is a quality central defender. I would prefer the Shlupp money added to this.

We're still messing around haggling over a few million on that front. It's unbelievable and frustrating that we're not biting the bullet and paying the money given what happened in the summer.
This quote from a Boro fan online makes me a little more optimistic about his credentials:
"Ramirez makes a big difference for us because as well as being creative and a dribbler, he's spiky, nasty, a workhorse, great in the air and has a bit more Suarez about him. Half the games I've seen him have for us, he's been one of the hardest workers in the team and the first line of defence. Great player, hope he doesn't go but the signs don't look good"
Although, on the other hand...
"Ramirez is poor away from home for some reason. He was even poor when we were in The Championship when away from home.
I've also noticed a lot, he's very hot headed.
Reminds me of Georginio Wijnaldum"

Yeah I was thinking that it might be worth just having a look at Lawrence in that advanced midfielder role.
We do need another CB as back up.
If I were being greedy I’d say we need another RB as well.
What's happened to Bojan?! He looked utter class 1-2 seasons ago!
Very inconsistent, Mersey. He seems to be one of those players that has the occasional class game but leaves you all but a player down in the rest. The kind that managers can't rely upon.
It's certainly worth reviewing Tom Lawrence's progress given his recent goalscoring exploits though.
I think if we are going to go places we need a player called Ramirez....
There cheers for Ramirez.
Blues fan in peace here.
As we've just signed Emilio Nsue, any thoughts on his departure and if he can/will perform at ours?
I don't think there are any Middlesbrough fans on here, KP.
