Would you swap squads with City?

Toure is a spent force, De Bruyne has gone off the boil but is still someone who would enhance us.

Sane is also someone I would take. Silva is still a very clever player.

Aguero I would go and collect myself

Other than that, I am not a big fan of Sterling and still need convincing re some of the other City players too.

So basically I would only take Aguero, De Bruyne & Silva to improve us.

Plus possibly Sane..........................

One thing you do have to wonder though...

If Poch is doing a good job and Pep a bad one then what we are seeing isn't necessarily an accurate reflection of each squads ability but a more positive one from City and a more negative one from Spurs.

It is closer than I would have thought at the start of the season but I would still opt for City's ahead.

Attackers > Defenders.... generally.

Summed up pretty well for me, a Spurs back five plus a combination of both midfields and our (City) front players would be a formidable team.

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Wanyama
Silva De Bruyne Alli
Kane Aguero

Therefore the answer is no especially as our defence is far superior and City's squad is ageing.

Nope I would not swap squads if given a choice. I'd only cherry pick a few of their players to add to ours if I could do that, otherwise I like having our squad and it's almost where we and Poch want it to be, I imagine, barring 1 or 2 other signings who can boost the quality.

If Poch was suddenly handed the City squad he'd have to spend a season or more transitioning the defence and getting the team playing how he wants.

yes way Jose

I think Poch deserves credit for building this squad without spending a lot of money. That's the big thing, plus he has improved players in his time here

I agree that the Pep slander has been ott by the media

They haven't got many in that 23-29 age group that I am sure managers would desire.
Pep has a big job replacing the stalwarts like Kompany, Silva, Toure, Sagna, Zaba etc.

KdB and Aguero are the only ones in that age group who really are the quality they need.

Then it is a fair few youngsters with a lot to prove.

They have really fallen into quite a situation.

Trivky debate this - I doubt very much that Rose would look as good under Pep, for example.

I think he deserves credit but not for building the squad. How many of the first 11 did Poch sign?

100% I would not swap squads. Not a chance.

We have an extremely strong XI currently, better overall than any XI City could put out. The gulf at GK, fullback and central defence is huge. Much bigger than the gap between the forwards in their favour. I think our central midfield pair is better than any combo they have too

The likes of Son, Lamela and Sissoko you could easily see in our XI and performing. They may not be as individually good as City's other forwards, but they are good options

Even other players such as Vorm, Wimmer, Davies and Trippier I would back to get in City's first XI at present.

Even Janssen, Nkoudou, CCV, Winks - our weaker players for one reason or another - have age on their side and none have a full PL season under their belts.

Generally agree with the OP, but query this:"Attacking areas is where they trump us, as KDB and Silva are better than any of our AMs,"

Now Alli vs KDB vs Silva is at the very least arguable, but given their respective ages there isn't a single spurs fan who would lose alli to gain silva. Would you even swap eriksen for silva (now 31, and missed 1/3 of last season through injury)?

Robbing Hoody

Signed - Dier, Alderweireld, Wanyama, Alli

However it's also clear he's improved the likes of Walker, Rose, Dembele, Lamela, etc

Also brought through Kane

I wouldn't swap Eriksen or Alli for Silva but I still think Silva is a better player than both

Alli vs KDB isn't a debate imo, KDB is by far the one City player who would make a big difference to our team

If talking squad we can add Vorm, Wimmer, Davies, Trippier, Sissoko, Son.

If about promoting rather than keeping players then also add CCV, Onomah, Winks, Kane.

Janssen and GKN also buys, but the jury is out

Given the hysteria at the start of the season regarding the Manchester clubs and their inevitable two horse race
..............

you forgot to put 'from the media' at the end of this opening line
