At least Rodgers got you consistently good for at least half a season. Was only down to a freak that you didn't win that year
That's because the manager can only do so much. We need more investment in players ready to go into the first team. The experiment with the academy players shows whats coming through the ranks is not ready for sustained first team action.

The committee fails to deliver yet again.
Today's result is down to playing with too many similar players upfront. Mane is the only player we have in the squad that wants to run through on goal. Everyone else drops short to pick up the ball. Easy to defend against. However big praise to Bobby Firmino his two goals were class. It's so easy to see what players we need to kick on to the next level but they won't be bought. Van Dijk and another Mane type player would totally transform our squad. Lovren constantly makes mistakes he's not reliable. Klaven is a good backup. Matip and Van Dijk would solve our defence problems. Two players who are strong nimble and are dangerous at set pieces.
we've been out of form for some time now.
on current form, not just results wise but performance wise we havent been good enough and much be favourites to miss out on the top 4. If there was any little hopes of a title shot pretty sure thats gone.

I totally agree. So many good teams around us. I think the last time we played well was Dec 27th against Stoke 4-1. For nearly a month now we have been very poor. Time for the players to show how mentality strong they are and not implode like we've seen time and time again in the prem era. We definitely now fighting to stay in the top4 and favourite to drop out come the end of the season.
at least United did not win. they still 4 points behind and will.lpse soon. but we have been poor big time

exactly theres been a lot of games since then aswell which is worrying, we need to sort it out fast if we have hopes of top 4.
United dropping points and Spurs and City playing today helps, we cannot drop out of the top 4 because the only way City can get ahead of us is beating Spurs 10-0 and then Spurs would go below us on goal difference anyway.
Still see all three finishing ahead of us though now we look clueless.

We've been only average since the start of the season, only looking good because of the relatively poorer quality of other sides.
No decent investment in players, including a crucial stand in for Mane who we knew 12 months ago would be going off for AFCON, so what do supporters expect. Klopp can only do so much with the pi$$ poor amounts he's given.
In other news it seems Markovic may be on his way back to Anfield. It may be than his loan deal is cancelled. I wonder if he's worth a try to deputise for Mane?

Why not?
It's not working, Can is hideously out of form and brig played in every game, Lallana had been a revelation in midfield is now being shoved into the front three where he's crap, so why not have our midfield 3 back to Wijnaldum, Hendo and Lallana and put Markovic up with Coutinho and Firmino.
It can't be any worse than the current state of affairs.
Marko does work hard and have a bit of pace to hopefully he gets his chance I agree.

Markovic has hardly played in two years. Last year he was injured for most of it and now he can't get into the Sporting team.
He played 20'ish games for us and looked lively in very few. The only really good game I remember was that European one which he got sent off in!
I really don't think Markovic is going to be the answer. I agree that Lallana should get back to his midfield position asap. I also have a bit of faith that Matip will improve us defensively, he's been enormously impressive in the games he has played.
