Team v Wycombe

I would like us to do well in cups too mate, but all the time we have a chance in the league that should take total priority for me.

Late February is when we will have to go hard, a game at home v Wycombe just seems too good an opportunity to miss to have our best XI fresh for the two games in the week that follows. Up at Sunderland on Tuesday

sissoko (C) winks

son onomah n'kodou

Vincent

Subs: Lopez, wimmer, amos, edwards, oduwa, rose and eriksen

*Wimmer has to be dropped his performance against city and in general have been either lazy or rusty. Since he has been a backup his entire career it cannot be the latter.

*4-2-3-1 as we do not need to risk dier for the 5 man defence. default formation is fine.

Easy win, wycombe rotate for the cups aswell whoever we put out does the job.

LLM you've lost

1, why would Sissoko be made captain over someone like Vorm?

2, Amos & Oduwa aren't even close to the first let alone make a match day squad

3, Wycombe will not rotate, this is there cup final

4, Wimmer has to play if only to get game time.

I couldn't guarantee us victory if we played that defence

personally I would put him straight back in. he was terrible, but from a man -management point of view he should back him, and also should have told him that he subbed him as he was on a yellow.....

agree with all apart from point 1, but that's because I don't really have much time for keepers as captains..... maybe the extra responsibility will be good for sissoko.

personally I would captain ben davies for this game, as he would be one of the more senior pros on show, if I were to have my way

Warned everyone our squad isn't good enough & Wycombe would be a tough test.

Yes all did by doing what poch did and pick an absolutely disgrace line up

I'm obviously going a bit OTT but I knew Wycombe would be hard hence why I insisted on Waynama needing to start and Eriksen for his creativity.

yeah but no one thought the weakened spurs side would wipe the floor with them. I named a side that I thought would do enough to win the game. it was similar to what poch named... and we won the game... i started Janssen in my team though, and he changed the game when he came on

Chronic

Just put on match thread that although it's not a popular opinion but I thought Janssen done very well.

Just his presence made it a tougher game for Wycombe

found it baffling that he didnt start him tbh... he needs goals... and he was very good when he came on.

CCV and Wimmer were awful.

was it a pen? the ccv one. I was about as far away from that as I could have been.. looked reckless

I was in north and thought it was a pen tbh

Dier was worse than CCV imo

CCV had to mark Akinfenwa and let's be honest he'd give toby a tough game.

Although a struggle, I still stand by putting that sort of team out at home. If we draw Lincoln or Oxford at home I would expect us to do similarly next round. Janssen should start though, whenever Kane does not

If we win on Tuesday - Sunderland not having a weekend game to worry about of course - and again on Saturday, the decision is vindicated for me.

Not really vindicated as he had to bring on two top players to help win the game.

On what planet he thought a pairing of CCV & Wimmer would be able to handle a beast like Akinfenwa. They've probably never come up against a player like him.

Dier I just don't know what to make of him. Another absolutely pathetic performance imo. IS this switching between positions hurting him?

Should've of started with a couple first team players and actually win the game early then take them off

posted on 29/1/17

He only brought them on for a fraction of the game, 25 mins

If he started them they would have played at least 60, unless we were 3 or more up.

To me its vindication. We are in the next round, and when we travel and play v Sunderland in two days time only two players will have had 90 minutes game time yesterday, and a couple with 25 mins. We should be fresh and at it against a team with no game this weekend.

tbh, poch got the team wrong last night. he had nothing on the bench to bring on. you have to leave a game changer on the bench. that man is son.

should have gone three at the back, toby dier and davies, and put son on bench as the impact sub.

poor from the boss on this occasion.

less said about the players the better

Would rather Davies never plays for us. Really don't see what he brings.

Was shocking when he came on yesterday. Couldn't beat the man, could cross, shooting from stupid places.

We really need better than him and if Rose is out for a while we are completely facked

We may have lost without rest, you never know.

Vindication was winning the cup tie. That gave the players the best platform to get a result last night. That is all you can do, then it is in their hands

Not sure why we deviated from the 343 that has served us so well in the league either.
