Unfortunately guys African players after AFCON get a two week break after the tournament to rest and recuperate. Not always true but as desperately we need him we should not rush him back he's played a lot of football in the last 6 weeks.

He'd have been more knackered if he didn't go to the AFCON. I doubt he'll need that much rest.

Think I read about a "5-day rule" on here when discussing Matip

He's played 3 games while he's been away.

We have played 6 in that time I think.

He won't start Tuesday but he will be fine for next weekend and should be fitter than most.

We should stick him on the bench. A 20minute cameo won't do much harm and might save our bacon.

Mahrez played Monday for Algeria then Saturday for Leicester (which admittedly is 5 days)

Maybe the 5-days only applies for players NOT GOING

Won't be eligible until the weekend, won't be available for Chelsea.

Expect a loss vs Chelsea and then hopefully we have our first team back.

Apparently we are flying him back by private jet today. As I said, I'd put him on the bench and bring him on 2nd half. I think we will be needing a change by that time.
