People saying strikers like Griezmann and Ibrahimovich wouldn't help are as deluded as Wenger himself.
Seriously, what a load of rubbish. Currently we have either Giroud, Sanchez, Welbeck, Perez or Walcott to play as strikers. Out of that lot Sanchez is the only one who would strike genuine fear into defenders and even then he is not an 'out and out striker'.
Just seeing names like Aguero, Costa, Suarez, Ibra, and so on makes a massive difference going into a game. The massive reputations of these players immediately strikes fear into defenders before the whistle even blows.
We desperately need to go all out for a player like this in the summer.
Wenger has extended Giroud who no one wanted whilst they cannot match Alexis wage demands. When Wenger is being shifty because of a socialist wage structure for £200k+ a week how do you think we will be able to offer £300k+ wages for someone like Griezmann with a £90m transfer fee on top.

Get rid of Wenger and get a manager in who demands the money to make these transfers and pay these wages.
The club has more than enough money available. It is about time the fans get what we deserve!
It wont' be as simple as that. All the players in the squad have contracts that are interlinked with others in the squad. So players like Giroud can demand more money if Alexis gets a pay rise. This is what is meant by a wage structure. The other bigger teams like Utd, City and Chelsea don't operate that way. Each player has an individual negotiation. Our problem is going to last longer than Wenger. This is why the person who assesses whether a player is actually a long term solution or not is important. That is Wenger with his favs. So he has tied down all the French players and Mert, he likes them, whether they are any good or not. Any new manager is going to be hamstrung with old players on very high salaries.
Let's be clear for a minute. You've got bundles of money available to spend if you wanted to. The new tv deals only increase your spending power.
You've got clubs like Palace (with a fraction of your attendances and sponsorship) shelling out the best part of £50M (net) on transfers this season alone, so everyone has the cash to splash.
Wage structure is a huge problem. Wenger's policy. Why do you think we have not tied down alexis and ozil?
guys, you can easily spend £250k p/w on the likes of Ozil and Sanchez (though I wouldn't spend it on Ozil). It's not an issue at all. You could do with a striker that's a little more reliable than Giroud though. If you'd got Suarez a few seasons back, you'd be laughing now. You should be making bids for the likes of PEA and Greasemonkey.
The point is not Ozil's or Alexis's wages. Its the fact we would have to give all other pay rises. Wenger likes all the players to be paid similar amounts. That is ridiculous but its the socialist way of doing things. We have to break from this concept and Wenger has to do it if he wants to stay in charge because it only way building a top squad.
But you have the money to pay all the players a lot more if you wanted/needed to.
Look at all the extra money coming into the club and ask where it goes.
We have the 4th highest wage bill and that means we stay in the top 4. Not sure if its changed recently but its been true for most of Wenger's career at Arsenal.
