Wan't expecting to catch one that easily. Didn't even need to hurl the net into the sea that time.
If that's all it takes for you to find a victory in something I'm happy for you.
Scholes - genius
Gerrard - leader
Lampard - effective
How we failed to get the best out of all 3 for the national team is a crime considering all 3 were either at their peaks or very near for a long long time.
To this day I don't understand why it was so hard to play 433 with Gerrard and Lampard either side of a defensive mid (Hargreaves?). Look at Pogba and Herrera, both get up and down with freedom and can chip in with goals/assists
England's best DM is Barry. He has had another great season st Everton lol.
Lampard what a true legend. Mocked alot during his career but when it's all said and done look what he achieved in the game. If he was at the club now at his peak even this team would be elevated to another level. Gerrard is a good player and had more ability picking a killer pass but could never take his Liverpool team to domestic glory though under Rafa their team became very good and stood a chance.
Someone mentioned pogba and Herrera asif it was a compliment for a woeful Utd side
Well there isn't any real loser in this argument, i mean you'd be happy with either or....
but for me it's Lampard. As been stated, and it's the No:1 Fact in all of this, Gerrard never won the Prem.
Lampard proved his worth. And became a great player. And won multiple league trophies.
For me when Gerrard talks about the league competition, it carries the same weight as Robbie savage... they won the same amount.
Gerrard is a winner at tournament football. It's a different mentality altogether, he doesn't know what it takes to be a true Champion over a course of a season, standing tall after 9 months.
And so with Lampards record there is no doubt, he gets the nod over Gerrard every time.

Lampard never won the league, Chelsea did. He was part of a team, an important part and a great player but trophy counts aren't the deciding factor in how good an individual is. Gerrard could have went to any team in the world and won league titles but he didn't and for me that's not a negative it's a positive.
Overall Gerrard was the better player, the better all round player but Lampard was very close, as the voting showed. An outstanding goalscorer from midfield.
Hey man, no dispute from me. Gerrard was a World Class player... but Lampard knows what it takes to win the league, plus he scored 50/60 more goals.
just my opinion.

Because Chelsea won the league Lampard knows what it takes to win it but Gerrard doesn't? So Traore and Biscan know how to win the CL but say De Yes, who is the best keeper in the world in my opinion doesn't?
Teams win trophies, individuals don't.
I've said you'd be happy with either, but my choice is Lampard. You're saying Gerrard was the better individual player, but then talking about team this, team that.
As if Lampard doesn't bring anything to a team. Lampard time and time again, proved that he was the more effective player, in a Team.
And we are just talking about these two players.
I can pick players who haven't won a league title to play for my team, but here I'm given the choice of Lampard and Gerrard.
Lampards goals and effectiveness and yes the fact that Gerrard doesn't and will never know what it's like to be a League Champion, very different mentality and feeling from being a Cup winner.
