On another note... Not meaning to defend him as the emails look bad.... But

We were in the international suite on Wednesday night and the table beside us was reserved for a mufc foundation rep hosting some suits... One convo snip i overheard in passing was one of the female asking about Beckham... Foundation guy said he'd met him a fair bit down the years and he was always a nice lad happy to help... But Posh was the opposite, rude to the point of being ignorant

There aren't many footballers you could genuinely like and think are really good people. So this is sad
=======================================

There just aren't many (if any) good people in the world to be honest.

There are people with self-interests in which all celebrities certainly over qualify for.

It never ceases to flabbergast me that in this day and age, any public personality (or anyone really) writes things in text/ on the internet in ether that they would not be able to stand by if unmasked. The era of privacy or sending mssgs in carrier pigeons or writing letters with mercury-laced ink thereby reducing exposure is truly zero.

iCloud? private texts/emails? other safe mechanism? It doesn't exist in this day and age. If i were a celeb or other public personality and interested in maintaining a sanitised image i would not utter a single word without it being pored over and scripted by my handler.

I won't even write a birthday card to my wife if my PR didn't craft the message.

Anything they can Mr Chelsea. Will be an uphill battle.

I still maintain he's underrated as a footballer though. His ability to cross becomes more evident every time Antonio Valencia tries 😂😭

Yet Valencia always seems to be able to grab an assist against us 😂

I'll wait to see what happens on this before judging. Could be utter crap. Disappointing to see scousers believing the sun when it suits them. Let's see how it pans out.

Yeah for selfish reasons and could have raised more if he didn't charge for charity. What a scuum bag.

The whole idea of charity is you give up your time and money to help others because you want to.

Couldn't give a crap about Beckham.

Never liked the guy. This news will not affect my life what so ever.

Some players haven't done half of what he's done though. What has his name helped raise over years? Even if it's true that it's to get a knighthood,so what.

There are billionaires in this country from all walks of life that dont give two pence to charity.

Just another case of let's build somebody up and knock them down. It's typical British mentality. We do it to everyone.

Yeah it is... Sad that most charities are big businesses now and so much of peoples donations get swallowed up by marketing campaigns, ceo salaries etc

Some have investment portfolios, tens of millions in banks to gain interest

"charity" has long been distorted... I'd rather give local where you can see a small difference being made

The worst email is the one where he throws a strop over the suggestion of putting his own money into the db7 fund.... Looks really poor

But you can even balance that by asking how the hell can it possibly cost a million to host a fundraising dinner... A feckin million!

Someone's on the make a lot more than Beckham
