Wolves come off the back of a fine week in which they followed their FA Cup win at Liverpool with victory at Barnsley, and went above Ipswich for the first time ever (in recent history).

Fixed it. Giving you 5 stars as it's been a fantastic week.
A win today and we will be on the brink of moving into the top half of the table and we will have definitely reached the point where we will be less points away from the play offs than we will be above the relegation spots.
After the improved performances since the start of 2017 be quite disappointing if we can't beat Burton but every match is a potential banana skin in this division. And this is a real local derby for me cause in driving time Burton is as close to home as Molineux.
This is the last of four successive away games and after today we will have played 6 out of 7 games away in 2017. Then we can do something about trying to improve our home form with the next 5 games all being at Molineux
Isn't Burton the home of Marmite?
Yes Burton is the home of a few major breweries like Bass and Marstons and marmite is a by product made from yeast extract. It is closely aligned to the Bass brewery. Marmite is mostly famous for describing people's attitude to Dave Edwards. But of course nowadays Dangerous Dave is everyone's favourite player so marmite is struggling for an identity
burton also in the phrase gone for a burton for which i wish these crap match threads would
1. To 'go for a burton' refers to the beer brewed in the Midlands town of Burton-upon-Trent, which was and still is famous for its breweries. RAF pilots who crashed, especially those who crashed into the sea, that is, 'in the drink', were said to have 'gone for a burton'.
Bute, you were asking about the song Wolves fans sing about Dave Edwards. The words go;
We've got Edwards, super Dave Edwards
I just don't think you understand
He's Paul Lambert's man
He's better than Zidane
We've got super Dave Edwards
I managed to get a rare video of the younger element of the Wolves support giving a heartfelt rendition of this classic. This concert was filmed in the concourse of the Britannia Stadium in Stoke

Guys don't forget your 'predict the team' entries.....it's not as good as Wolfies comp, but only the match threads can eclipse that !

Brilliant - thanks for finding that. I feel I'm up-to-date on all things Wolves now.
Better than Zidane - I suppose that makes it official, now it's in "song".
This is a pleasant time to be on the Wolves forum. Shame Admin is still pushing up the zzzzzs
Hope we can keep momentum with win today
Lots of games coming up with a Tuesday night before Chelsea but as already pointed out all at home
I can't stop thinking about Chelsea game as really looking forward to going and wonder if Lambert has an idea of his team and whether he will rest a couple in the games leading up. Probably not against the Geordies though. Maybe rest two or three such as Costa on the Tuesday against Wigan
Much as everyone is looking forward to the Chelsea game, climbing up the league is as important if not more important, so I don't think he will be turning out weaker teams in the league games. The advantage he has is that despite making many changes each game, the performance of the team is keeping at a high level. So it seems he could pick any 11 from about 17 and still send out a decent team
Better than Zidane - I suppose that makes it official, now it's in "song".
To be honest I thought Zidane was a very good player, so although obviously Dave is better, I don't think there's much in it
Glad you could make it Walter
Any luck in finding a job ? Not really surprising all things considered. Feel free to stick around and enjoy thread
