What like a penalty for hand ball 2 feet outside the area.
Yes, some teams are luckier. But that is because they make their own luck.

Yes...exactly that. We got lucky then....so are we as high as we are due to being 'luckier' this season?
....statistically!??
Luck should even itself out over the course of a season.
It goes both ways, we didn't get ours today

You cant 'make your own luck'
Are you saying that, for instance, the more crosses you put into the box, the more chance you'll get a goal?
But that's just not true if the defenders just eat them up all the time?
So I'm just thinking there's more to it than that?
... I guess if that impacted on the result of the game it would be a good example yes.
To the OP, luck plays a huge part in football. Today the luck fell to the team who deserved it. And my applying pressure, they increased their chances of gettting a break
there is no such thing as luck
Depends if inept refereeing counts as luck. This lot this season have been the worst I've ever seen. That clown on Tuesday shouldn't be reffing Sunday league.
And no I don't think it evens itself out.

Easy to say glibly, but 'should' doesn't mean 'does'

Of course if you put more crosses in you are more likely to get a goal.
Just look at Lampard. The number of deflected goals he scored is high, but that is because he wasn't afraid to shoot. If he only shot when he had a clear shot at goal he would have scored far fewer. He made his own luck.

Yes there's is. End of.
It's the degree it happens for a particular team that I'm querying
We was lucky not to get beat by 3 or 4
We were garbage

Fair point.
But luck/defections on shots are just one example. What about the frequency of good/bad decisions that go for/against you....?
or
the number of times in a fair 50:50 challenges the bill bounces to the opposition.....?
Can't help feeling that it's not so simple to say the most luck goes to the most attacking team??

Lol. Ok fair enough...but just can't see how can you say that there's no luck.
If there is such a thing as luck it's usually earned, and although it irks me to say it Huddersfield earned theirs today - Just have to accept we tried but it wasn't good enough for a point.

Winning teams seem to be luckier than losing teams.
Just the way it goes or seems!

Are winning teams luckier, or do luckier teams win? That's the question!
Salonica, I would have to say "yes!" 😉
