The race for top 4

Gonna go right to the wire there is no doubt, 4 points seperating 6th from 2nd is insane you can't predict who is gonna finish where at the moment.

Liverpool were most in trouble because they are bottom 7 of the form league circa the 6 games prior to yesterday's match but we put in a great performance. They have got Leicester, Everton, Arsenal, and City in their next 4 games, massive period for them.

Latest best odds for top 4 finish

Chelsea 1/100
City 2/7
Spurs 4/7
Liverpool 4/5
Arsenal 10/11
United 6/5

So United still the outsiders but it's darn close. The 6/5 is with Ladbrokes if anyone wants a piece.

I do fear our run in.... we have to play most of our top 4 rivals away.... probably need a 4-6 point gap by early april really... still alot of work to do.

Cfc
LFC
City
Spurs

Cfc....obvious why

LFC...1 game a week, had our poor run and main players all back.

City...They have the squad to deal with CL and prem, although do play to open.

Spurs...generally solid team, dont lose many.

Utd may only be a point behind but they also have an inferior GD, they also have cups and europe. If you go 16 games unbeaten and still reside outside top 4; well those runs dont go on forever so its logical they just drop points.

Arsenal....top 4 guaranteed almost with them, but its not a right of passage, I feel wengers philosophy will see them miss out this season so much competition this year its not what they are used too.

GB... you not concerned that liverpool often pick themselves up for the big games, then drop silly points elsewhere?

Team on long unbeaten run more likely to drop points than others in shakier form?

Ji....thats not strictly true.

We have beaten watford, w brom, palace, stoke, everton, hull, Swansea and Sunderland.

We HAVE also lost to Swansea, Bournemouth, hull and Burnley yes. But its not catastrophic as we have also beat these types of teams. Hull and Swansea losses came in the jan period when we were off form, had injuries and too many games for our squad. That's not the case now

Its....kinda, u know what I mean. Its likely utd will lose a game soon, just as it was obvious LFC would soon again win a game.

We all knew cfc wouldn't carry on winning and I suspect they will may well woble as well. Utd really needed to be IN the top 4 by now, they are not and I think they rue those draws.

We have a vicious run in... no doubt about it. Gonna be exciting though... for all teams involved

If only chelsea were in the mix too... would be the best PL in memory

As it is, it isn't.

You've never done an article like this before have you.

Spurs dropping out eh. Mmmm...cant see it myself.

It'll be tight but they've a lot of football left and their last four performances have not been great by all accounts (although I only watched two of them tbf)

I reckon united and Liverpool will finish outside.

We've left ourselves too much to do in terms of number of games to play, and those games being against quality opposition away from home. Throwing away stupid points with draws will see us falter.

Liverpool imo have the worst squad out of the remaining 5 teams. They also have set a precedent for throwing away silly points in games they should be seeing out. And that's when they have one game a week to concentrate on.

Chelsea to win. Can't predict the order of the remaining three, but I'd say city second if pushed.

Like I have said for a few months now, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal in my opinion are guaranteed a top 4 spot.

I think because of our run-in, we'll miss out - I want to say Liverpool will get that fourth with Mane back, but if you're solely depending on one player than, it's not going to work every game.

I think Tottenham, may, just may sneak it on the last day.

We're not solely relying on him though. Such a lazy assessment.

It happening once this season is now setting a precedent?

Did we?

It's only really happened in one game, and that was in December, when we didn't have one game a week. After that game we didn't lose for another 8 games.

I think you need to check the meaning of 'setting a precedent'

Then what happened when he was in AFCON?

Your performance yesterday with him in the team was scarily different. He is a huge catalyst for your team. The game plan seems to work in his presence. Without him, it's like you could go a month without winning...

But it doesn't make us a one man team. He's extremely important to us, without a doubt, but he wouldn't have scored his goals without a couple of very good assists. They weren't solo efforts.

I think the biggest reason he was so effective yesterday was more down to Spurs than anything else. They gave him the run of the pitch, literally did nothing to stop him. His influence isn't usually as extreme as it was yesterday.
