Of course City won the lottery, most of their fans with a brain acknowledge it. Before Mansour came along they were getting fiisted 8-1 by the likes of Boro whilst languishing in mid table.

If you honestly believe city are where they are now through hard work and toil and there wasn't even a small amount of good fortune involved, you're incredibly deluded.
----------------------------------------------------
No, but City weren;t taken over because they were heavily in debt, had an out of date stadium or a dwindling fan base.
City had a dire 20 years because we didn't have the money to buy ourselves out of trouble like the so called 'Big Clubs' could and still do.

Utd being able to sell our own TV rights would kill the league. We'd have no competition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pipe down. You broke the world transfer record last summer and you're sixth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You kind have proved my point for me. We're able to break it now. Imagine how much easier it would be if we sold our own rights?
Also we may be 6th but we're currently two pts off second so I'll not cry myself to sleep just yet.
Our global fanbase would dwarf any of the other pl clubs. Wed be unstoppable after a few yrs which is why it should never happen. Every team should get equal share for me.
Bitter and massive response though.

City were taken over because thaksin shinawatra was happy to sell cheap, as his assets were frozen at the time, and they had been literally given a state of the art stadium.
The squad was average to poor, as evidenced by the lack of upturn in results until the owners started spending silly money.
It was fortune, nothing else. City were in the right situation at the right time, and not through their own doing.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. I don't debate that City have a fantastic fan base but they were relegated not too long ago if you remember.
They won the lottery twice. Firstly they were given a superb stadium for free just paying rent and then a sheik billionaire buys them players like Augero and Villa etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to take your own advice on board.
1. Firstly, City were not given their stadium for free.
2. And this relates to the Lottery comments in this thread...
...That particular analogy simply does not work. City didn't enter into a random draw, a draw in which the winners were to be owned by a particular set of owners. The analogy is quite simply ridiculous. One that shows the complete lack of thought (and foresight, and quite simply intelligence) of fans who think in such a manner.
As for the comment "they were relegated not so long ago". Again this is utterly ridiculous.
I can't abide comments that are blatant lies, let alone comments that at the least try to warp the truth.

Man United have out spent every club the last 4 years and they are still average. There is no guarantee if you have more money you will be succesfull.
Chelsea and Man City have done good in recruiting good players which fit their systems. Man United spent money with no strategy and like a headless chicken player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm going to guess that english isn't your first language, so i'll let the poor grammar slide...and i'm sure you know what a headless chicken player is, even if we don't.
but at least try to get your facts right, because united have not outspent every club over the last 4 years.

You going the route of "english is not your first language" which says you are being wummed, but the fact stands, you have outspent every club the last few years in the league.

A comment that is completely ignorant of history.
What you have just said about City can equally be applied to United, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Liverpool, Chelsea, PSG, Arsenal, Juventus, etc.
In fact, it is a comment that can be said about pretty much any club.
How far back are you willing to go with this?

go and check the numbers and you'll realise you are wrong - even more unfortunately for you, you are wrong because of one of the clubs you cite as a shining example of how to spend money well.
same way you were wrong/lying when you accused me of mocking the hillsborough victims the other week, and then when i bet you £5k you couldn't find a shred of evidence for that - mainly because it wasn't true - you simply f@cked off, tail between your legs, without having the decency to apologise.

So, are you really trying to argue that city deserved this and more than the likes of everton or Newcastle? That your club really did something that made them head and shoulders above everyone else to get an enormous cash injection that essentially remade the club?
Come on.
Obviously we were a much more attractive proposition than the other clubs you mention.
Nothing to do with being 'bigger' or 'better'. The only real debt we had was over the stadium, the one that some people seem to think we were 'given'.
City claiming they deserved or worked hard to get their takeover is like someone claiming they worked hard to win the lottery because they walked half s Mike to buy the ticket
Have a word with yourself city fans nothing wrong with being lucky but don't pretend it's earnt.
You could say United won the lottery when they decided not to sack Fergie all those years ago.

My sole desire is to be able to watch each and every game my club plays, no matter what the competition is, no matter what the time of day is.
I'd love to be able to travel to LFC every match day, have a great time, experience the fantastic atmosphere, see my team win, have a drink with buddies, travel home the next day, all, fantastic.
Unfortunately, I can't afford the time. The next best thing is to see them live on tv. Including 3:00pm, Saturdays, which the FA currently ban. I can't complain, at least 90-95% have been live on Sky or BTSport. All I want is 100%. And I'm sure so too does the club, and I would be willing to pay LFCTV to do so. And that day must come. Money is involved.
