Good to see PCB taking no prisoners here. If guilty life ban.
suspend their underpants.
@Galvs.. Why suspend all cricket due to PSL?
Plz elaborate or enlighten us!
Thanks in advance

You mean all cricket tournaments like World Cup or Ashes etc?
I think a lot of these domestic T20 tournaments are dodgy, like those triangular cups in the 90s, it's nice that some actions are being taken, however my opinion is that some players have been doing it for years and NEVER been banned. Would be great to have some consistency, so that people stop judging these scapegoats.
The problem with banning for life is what if you find out after a player has retired that they were fixing?
Do you get a time machine and punish them?
Now Lahore blast cast doubts over PSL final!
I think any hope of cricket back to Pak is gone for at-least a decade now..

In my opinion, it is not restricted to this league any more than what happened to Cronje when he was made a scapegoat for fixing all those years ago
Same with the spot fixers in UK, if anyone thinks that only those 3 were involved in fixing at that time are seriously naive
Sreesanth and a few others were made scapegoats a few years ago in IPL. I feel a lot more players were involved.
Everyone thinks that these acts are done by a minority and most players are clean. I'm not even sure if the people that take action are corrupt or not, they may ban some and not others.
It's virtually impossible to stop, people can bet on how many players are wearing long sleeves, how many runs in an over, how many wickets in a period etc. Playing out a maiden or scring less than 4 an over could actually earn you money. You see how easy it is.
Sreesanth and a few others were made scapegoats a few years ago in IPL. I feel a lot more players were involved.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
In IPL, two teams got banned not just few players and overall Supreme Court of India came quite hard at BCCI.
Interesting you bring that up, of those 2 IPL teams, I'm sure many high profile players were part of those teams but yet all escaped punishment. Correct?
wherever you go, something goes on. I think some were suspended for not telling about approaches and some seem to be in hotter water.
I still remember Matt le Tissier admitting spot fixing/spread betting years ago and nothing was ever done about it. I think that does grate with people.
JT,
My frnd, the high profile players were vetted and I'm sure money is not an issue with them as they get paid so heavily! However idiots like Sreesanth and other lower level type players sure deserved the punishment they got. Not so fond of IPL either but glad that recent kicking by Supreme Court is good for a healthy Indian cricket. In the past the players were not making money as good as today but still that's not an excuse especially how cricket is loved in India. That is why we will always hate players like Azhar who sold their souls for money!
Even top players, earning good money, can look to make a little more on the side. Just because you've got lots of money doesn't stop people wanting even more money. The ICL was corrupt. The IPL has corruption issues too. Problems in the PSL. Cricket in England has had corruption issues too. Ditto South Africa, Australia etc.
It's gone on everywhere it seems for so long.
Something needs to be done to clean up sport in general.
The cricketing boards are taking action, but all they can do is ban players etc...
this is a criminal offense and the police need to be involved and hand out harsh punishments. That is the only deterrent to stop players.
If the players stop - the whole thing stops.
Ajmal thinks that through the PSL is step back for him to comeback in Pak team.. I'm sure Kashy or some folks must be quite excited for his comeback
Cricket in most countries is only surviving because of these leagues. You take big bash, cpl, and to some extent ipl for bcci. If not for these leagues, most countries domestic teams and the boards would have been bankrupt. So it's not all gloom and doom. Corruption will be an issue until severe punishment is handed over. You cannot have players spot fixing and then give the 3 year ban and let them back. Bcci did the right thing by banning sreesanth for life.
As usual well said Viru..
Now latest is Sharjeel Khan & Khalid Latif charged.. Hope they get life bans and don't know how many more are involved..
My point is not what the punishment should be for these players, the point is are all the players (or even half the players) who fix actually getting caught.
For example, everyone said Sreesanth deserved his life ban, but what if a high profile player committed the same offence and was protected at the time?
SreeSanth would get a life ban and the other guy would continue his career and make millions with their reputation intact. That's where I think the problem is.
JT,
India in the past too were not hesitant to punish big players. Azharuddin who was captain of Indian team was banned for life. To my best recollection, he never played again for India after being found guilty.
Now compare Amir's case and how PCB initially supported these cheats. They even fought with ECB who supported PCB big time.
Just to add R.I.P Shahid Afridi's international career finally . In my view he was more like showpiece for his team for the past few years!
Also if any Pak fans watched, IU vs QG game? I thinks it looks fishy. How come a team looses a game like that. Really can't believe it.
Regarding the final, PCB's ego is going to hurt Pakistan cricket's future! So many bomb blasts in last few weeks at Lahore and they still want to have the final there. Why not just play the final in Dubai? Why risk the lives of players for one game? It won't help to bring cricket back to Pakistan. Sorry my neighbors if your feelings got hurt but I'm just stating the facts.
Oh no, again another Pak vs India slanging match. Can anything be discussed without this constant back and forth.
