I don’t really follow lower league football but what a result for you guys against Queens of the Stoneage. They were really good back in 2003 or round about then. Always remember that song that was on Kerrang.

I was listening to a Queens of the Stoneage album the other day. You know the one that was good. With the song 'Go with the flow' on it. Great driving song that.

Sorry as I said I don’t really follow lower league football. I’ve just heard of them from back in the day.

You could win this trophy at your first attempt then?

Not a lot of teams can say that...

Actually we played in the Challenge Cup the last time we were relegated and lost in the final.

To Stenhousemuir on penalties

St. Mirren in a cup final, what could possibly go wrong?

Thankfully I don't remember it.

The first cup final I remember was the following year, and I wish I didn't remember that one either.

If nothing else, winning this would show the team that they can win a knock-out competition, which may be a handy boost come the end of the season.

Then again, St. Mirren are probably thinking the same thing.

Tale of two halfs, first was good, nice bit of quality for the third goal. Second poor we were waiting to see what QOTS would do instead of finishing the game off and were a bit fortunate to win imo.
Anyway nice "neutral" venue for the final, 12.30 at St Mirren's back door. Was going to take the wee man to his first cup final albeit a diddy one, no thanks St Mirren can have it.

12:30 in effing Motherwell? They really don't want any United fans to go, do they?

Why not East End Park? Only a couple thousand fewer seats but it's pretty much equidistant.

Agreed mate, I think it's dubious to have a Premier league teams ground host a lower league cup anyway and surely Dunfermline or Hibs grounds would be better/fairer.
They can just ram it.
