erm... ok thanks lol
I've never liked the bloke.
Jenas is a quality pundit
Not Savage fan,but most of what he said tonight was accurate.Musa was poor,Morgan and Huth were poor as usual (and both look overweight) rest got better as game went on.
Kasper man of match by a mile.
Hope we have turned corner, but doubt it.
Morgan or Huth should be dropped, just can not work out which is more of a liability...... Also hope Musa misses the plane home!
Not many positives apart from second half slight improvement and Vardy got a crucial away goal.we will need two quick goals at the KP to stand a chance!
Little harsh to say the 2nd hal was a "slight" improvement. I thought we were a lot better (though not difficult after the no show in the first half)
Hopefully we can get the KP rocking in the 2nd leg. Get the Birch out to do one of his legendary speeches before the game.

Ditto. At 2-0 down and looking at another couple before the end we were just about dead in the water. A 2-1 result means we only have to win 1-0 at home to progress. Oh wait a minute, I've just seen the fatal flaws in my reasoning, to win 1-0 we need to score a goal, and not concede!
Seriously, was a lot happier at the end than at 63 minutes.
Kasper awesome, we'd have been done for without his saves.
A slight note of positivity, apparently they've never made it past this stage in the Champions League and it's nearly 60 years since they made the quarters of the European Cup, so hopefully that'll play on their minds.
Savage seems to think that "pressing" requires a whole team approach. That would have been suicide! The front lads doing it is one thing to push them a bit and try to prevent them bulding from the back but can you seriously imagine the whole team trying it.
Savage is an idiot. The media outlets that have forced him on our TV screens and radios should all be fined heavily and be made to remove him immediately.
Savage is a 'character' and TV companies are of the opinion that is what the proles want.
TV is full of pundits who talk a lot, yet say nothing. Savage is the tip of this iceberg

That's what we did last season. Rio pointed it out as well. When the strikers press you need the midfielder behind you doing the same. There was about an 80 yard gap between our strikers and midfield that didn't exist last season
That gave Sevilla and incredible amount of space at times because no one was backing the strikers up. There's simply no plan from Ranieri at the minute, some of the team press - a bit, others don't at all

What I mean is that "pressing" doesn't have to be a whole team approach and totally unsustainable if it is, especially against Saville for a whole game. There are various degrees of it and it was clear to me that the tactics were to have the front 2 pressing only for large periods of the first half to hurry the defenders a bit thus preventing a clinical build up from the back and through midfield, allowing us to keep a defensive shape in midfield and at the back without players selling themselves which can often be the case when players are playing in such an environment for the first time. They were scared, I am justing saying that a full pressing system could have also gone a lot worse.
I can't figure out what the tactics were last night and I don't think any of the pundits could either. A bit of a half press from the the front two, a massive gap between the strikers and midfield - no compactness really and some players seemingly on a different wavelength
Even as a Birmingahm City fan I have to say that Lily Savage is a massive top hat,as much as I hate villa I'm actually a fan of Dion Dblin for headbutting him and now watch 'Homes Under the Hammer' whenever he's on it!
Savage is Savage, he's a character and entertaining and frustrating in equal measure. But at least he's unique, unlike the never-ending line of droning pundits with indistinguishable viewpoints that get wheeled out across most channels.
Agree with Dunge and didn't think Savage said much wrong yesterday.
