I'd have no problem with Herrera being captain next season. Shows passion, grit and determination.

Not Herrera.
His screaming/petulance/passion is good on an individual basis. Wouldn't want that ruling the team.
And I wouldn't be surprised if the honour went to his head and he started being over passionate/petulant/screamy; to everyone's detriment

Captains are very often judged by their ability to 'lead by example'. If the kind of example you want as a leader is a useless, clueless, directionless, headless chicken copying, simulating, pointless water carrier, then Herrera would be a great captain.
On a more sensible note, if Rooney, Bastian,Ibra and/or Carrick are all ruled out for reasons of age, then it should go to someone that, at least, has United quality attached to them. Jones, Mata or Smalling for example. Unless a more natural leader is bought in from another premier league team.
