Kos Strikes AGAIN!!

Other defenders get away with those challenges all the time.

If he doesn't do it then Lewa scores. If he does do it, he is unlikely to get sent off.

It was the right call on his part. He just didn't get away with it AND got sent off harshly imo.

He's made it all too easy. He can make a challenge without putting his arms all over him and full body checking him. What other defenders get away with is irrelevant. Unless you are talking about what other defenders notorious for big game stuff ups get away with.

What other defenders get away with is irrelevant,
--------------------------------------------

It's completely relevant. If players like Ramos, Pique, Hummels, Chiellini etc. get away with similar challenges with no punishment or consequence then Koscielny is within his right to believe the same will happen when he does it.

If he moved to Barca/Real you would suddenly see he doesn't have these "calamities" because the referees are calling these decisions in his favour.

Fact is, we played 105 minutes against Bayern with Koscielny and won 2-1 and we played 75 minutes against them without him and lost 9-0.

WTF is up with that? Is Koscielny THAT good or does our defence have absolutely no clue without him ( I believe it's a little of both).

Levandovski was offside before the penalty. Kos just tried to stop him

And why did we have to play those minutes without Kos?

posted on 7/3/17

Offside and Lewand dived

Because of injury and because of a blind linesman

If it was another player then I wouldn't be so irritated but Kos seems to keep all of these moments locked up tight, just for big games. That's my issue here, not this one particular incident. But the fact that this incident is not isolated. He's ALWAYS doing something hugely detrimental to the team in our biggest games.

The Bayern pen definitely wasn't "soft". It was an absolute stonewaller FFS.

The red card was very harsh, I'll give you that. Red all day long under the old rules, but not the current ones.

Had zero influence on the result though, just the scoreline.

offside and a dive. Even Rummenigge and Hummels says so

Don't be silly Dave, Lewandoski is no way that weak. He's a strong bill of a man, more than capable of standing up to that challenge. He flopped to the deck like he's a 7 stone ballerina.

They were better yes, but the ref facked the penalty decision big time

Certainly NOT offside, Specsavers for you mate..
No dive, he was clearly shoved over with no attempt to play the ball. Unlucky to get red tho' but at 2-6 the tie is over anyway.

posted on 8/3/17

Watching it again it does appear that the ref is listening to something in his earpiece before bringing out the red.

I thought the rule was a red card and a penalty is awarded if there is no attempt to play the ball and it denies a clear goal scoring opportunity.

The punishment seems to fit the crime in this instance.

Yes, we fell apart after the penalty
Yes, the tie was over before it was started
But still it was offside and a bed penalty and red decisions. Here's the proof:
