Today good and bad

Worst game I've seen from Mane in a Liverpool shirt.

All the front three were awful and Lallana was anonymous.

However, Wijnaldum again played well scoring another important goal. I though Mignolet played well and his punches were assured and kicking not quite so woeful.

Woodburn didn't look phased at all either so overall I agree with Klopp. It's the first ugly game we've won this season.

Origi was involved in both goals. He had some shocking service in the first half but did give us a focal point.

Coutinho was terrible. He's actually getting worse. Never looked up for it and well done Klopp for subbing him off.

Can was all action. Never hides and scored a sweet goal while Wij proves how important he is becoming for us.

Coutinho really has to up his game, been very poor for a long time now.

Fair play to Klopp as well, if we hadn't won the game there would have been a few raised eyebrows subbing a senior player for a 17 year old.

He was justified in doing so regardless of what followed. Coutinho tends to play well against City so hopefully it's the kick up the ass he needs to return to form against them again.

The frustrating thing is as soon as couts shifted the ball quickly and actually went past someone rather than trying to run through them, it created the first goal.

It's exciting to see woodburn come in and do well though, wasn't amazing but was far better than coutinho.

It's good to see klopp happy to use him too, and to sub him for arguably our best player at the club.

Woodburn is pushing hard for a starting berth and if firmino is out a little longer and coutinho doesn't pick up his game he might get it sooner rather than later.

We were building up to that goal in the first half, gradually taking the game by the scruff of the neck. I was actually typing that I think we'll turn it around in the second half, when we scored!

Can seemed to be pushed further forward in the second half, and played a lot better for it. It's not the first time this has happened..... I don't think he's set for a career as a DM, which makes the purchase of a dedicated one a top priority for the summer.

I thought Woodburn was excellent, one of the best sub appearances I've seen for a while. He actually whips the ball into the area, unlike the infuriating floated chips the rest of the team seem obsessed with!

Klavan improved as the game went on, and I'm convinced he stopped a certain goal with his excellent block. I think his inconsistency comes from only starting sporadically, and it can't help his confidence seeing Lucas start ahead of him so often.

Woodburn

Coutinho, Lallana & Mane were all pretty poor which resulted in Origi getting hardly any service in the first half. Also i hate the stereotype that he should be good in the air because he is 'tall'. He is only 6ft and about 3cm shorter than Sturridge.

Terrible tactic, us knocking it long to him.

Klopp said Can was going between the CBs too much he said its fine but the CBs needed to go for more of the headers he was going for because he wasn't in the DM position for the 2nd ball.

Toor and Selb trying to tell me yesterday it was Klopps tactic btw.

And thats where i said we were struggling first half, Can going back to CB for headers too much and Lallana and Wij were not covering him for 2nd balls. 2nd half improved a lot and when Lucas came on it helped us see out the game relatively easily.

Cout was awful, Mane was a threat but pretty bad too, Can was giving it a go especially in the air competing but his passing at times and decision making way off. Lallana was running around a lot but not doing a lot, other then that turn that got Mee a yellow i don't recall anything he did good.

Our corners are a joke, if Klopps insistent on us going for a near post flick on, please ffs instruct them to beat the first facking man make it to the first post at head height.

Some nice ideas on free kicks but Wij looked half asleep when receiving them. Matip was our MOTM imo solid. Klavan did alright again should've been closer to Milner for their goal and he cuts the pass out, Clyne was average especially going forward, Milner just as bad. I thought Origi did ok didn't get much service or support but involved in both goals 2 assists i think. Woodburn looked unphased when he came on and did fine, interesting he prefers the 17 year old over our 19 year old other welsh lad Wilson.

It's been our tactic since Klopp took over. The CBs come forward to deal with the long ball. Which is why i never understand people who say we cant deal with it. We're actually pretty decent dealing with long ball centrally.

It's crosses that we have a problem with and Mig still doesnt show confidence in coming out for them. He just stays on his line. Now whether that is on the instruction of Klopp is something we may never know but there were one or two scenarios where instead of communication with the CBs to leave the crosses to him because there was no Burnley player attacking it, he let Klavan kick it into the crowd

Nitty gritty stuff but you can only change a habit by changing your behaviour.

I still prefer we bin him though.

This was a quiet turning point in the game as well. Up until that moment Mee was attacking the chit out of everything and literally bullying us. He cooled it off after that yellow, which allowed us to play more.

A poor performance but got the result in the end though it was rather nervy

Coutinho should never take a corner again, he was absolutely hopeless yesterday

We will need at least 4/5 new players as the bench was embarrassing yesterday

Klopp on Can says Emre was too involved in the challenges and we lost too many of them (dropping deep to the CBs), yes he should help out but not the only guy cause then we miss him again for 2nd balls.
