Johnson played in the RW position at Portsmouth and looked qoite good, but he is far better playing as offensive RB.
Often space in the modern game is given to fullbacks and good enough players can exploit it. This is why Johnson on his game looks great driving forward with the ball from this position When he is being marked by a quality LB. I don't it will work.
This is why given the system Kenny is using I would like to see Gerrard playing on the right.With Downing providing width on the left and Johnson bombing on from RB.
The only question is he fit enough or willing enough to play 'the 'graveyard shift'. Playing this role he scored over 20 goals a few seasons back.

A price tag doesn't determine a players ability. Other factors are taken into account - in the case of Carroll; his importance to Newcastle (i.e. value), the last minute timing of the transfer, his importance to us (no other real no.9), the fact he is British and his age are all contributing factors. I do not for one minute think he is worth the £35m, and I certainly do not think a starting 11 should be dictated by a receipt.
My suggestion is that players play in their position, so no, I don't think Lucas should play anywhere else but CM.
