This game is made for Coutinho to shine, he's got space to work with, Klopp needs to put a rocket up his behind.

Not sure he does. City are doing an excellent job at getting numbers back and getting out to the ball, although they weren't able to keep that up towards the end. If the score stays the same I suspect there will be more space. Really we should have been one up and playing ten men but I still think we've got this.

Don't think it would've been red though as it was an attempt to play the ball

Souness would have been furious if that had been given when he was playing.

I didn't notice it in real time, but yeah after the replay.

They didn't mention the Route foul on Wijnaldum that should have been a penalty or the fact he only got booked for studs into the chest of Can.

Coutinho has had very little room tbf. Watch fernandinho when city are defending. He is literally man marking couts, just following him around the field. Every couts touches the ball fernandinho is kicking his heels.

ref has been poor. fernandino should be on a yellow too

Thought Firmino and Matip were unlucky to get yellows when City's players have got away with worse.

I think the refs trying to let the game flow, but he hasn't got the balance right. Worst decision by far is not sending Yaya off.

He's basically stopped Firmino aggressively pressing from the front with that yellow. As well as having Matip walking a tightrope for a challenge that wasn't much at all.

the decisions for yellows have been obscene. Hate when refs "try to keep their cards in their pocket". Just set themselves up for inconsistency. Set out the standard you expect from the off. If there's a bad foul 10 seconds in- book them!

Amazing though, we look so at home competing against the top table teams, fantastic really, hope we carry that on second half.....

Exactly. This can be frustrating however. When referees decide how they're gonna referee a game beforehand. Judge it in its own right.
