Where's Johngee when you need him?!!!
John Percy a reporter so how would he know anything about him only what others tell him has he interviewed him?
I have been critical of him but without like the rest of us proper insight just what we choose to believe.
Like the Burnley defender who we did not get because we did not bid enough. How true is that if the player was so set on coming here why did he not put a transfer request in thats not hard.
Anyone doing recuritement is in a no win situation because i am guessing 95% of the players we want do not want to come to Leicester and thats be true my whole life.
At least CoE's sleep for an hour or two...incoming

John Percy has very good sources within the club. Impeccable would be another word. He's seldom been wrong on anything and unlike the mirror or sun for example, he's a journalist worth trusting. The insight into Rudkin has come from those who know him well and work with him
Michael Keane wanted to leave but Burnley wouldn't let him go. He was tied into a decent contract and a transfer request would have made no difference, Burnley were not going to sell until Leicester met the valuation. Something CR was fuming with Leicester about apparently
John Gee used to speak of Jon Rudkin in brilliant, glowing terms when he was apparently an adversary of Pearson's. These days, since his part in Ranieri's downfall, he speaks of him with the disdain and disgust that he used to reserve for Andrew Neville and insists that it was always plainly obvious that Rudkin was a severely limited man. So obviously our DoF has had a reverse epiphany in the last year or two.
Personally I subscribe to the view that nobody knows enough about him to judge properly, although I think he has to accept some blame for the mess that was the summer transfer window.
And to be fair to him, I remember sort-of advocating Neil Lennon at the time too.

This absolutely. JG completely did a reversal on Rudkin, I believe a poster on here even dug out one of his old comments to back this up.
I don't know if Rudkin is to blame or Whelan? Considering we don't bid enough I'm inclined to believe it's Whelan making that decision and Rudkin working to it. If so, Rudkin is fine and Whelan is the problem.
I mentioned before that from a coach I speak to at the club, there haven't been great things said about Rudkin, but to be honest, a lot of this is about his personality in relation to arrogance.
Two things have stood out though:
1) more than one person has spoke to me about how he isn't a football man and hasn't ever kicked a ball in his life (not that this necessarily is a damning critique)
2) he is obsessed with the data analysis side of player evaluation of current and prospective personnel. This has been something we have invested in quite a lot and I think has reaped benefits but there has been suggestions that this 'moneyball' style analysis is being taken a little too far:
Stories of him moaning that, despite youth players/potential signings having a good game, the analysis showed they 'didn't have a single touch with their left foot' etc
And further suggestions that, to some extent on occasions, this data analysis is replacing us actually sending coaches to see players live
My own view is that, although I'm not sure there was a lot of success in spite of anything detrimental from Rudkin, I'm not sure either he contributed to it that much either and with or without him at the club, last season would have happened
Well point two would certainly explain why we don't bid enough for players.
I have had worked on Projects for the CeO and you need to remember why she us at our club.
She represents the owners business interests and as a close family friend is there most trusted employee.
She has no interest in football if you see her at a match she's on her mobile. So there no danger her getting involved there. But she will set a budget that the DoF and the management team and they will work within that and if they need more pocket money she will go to Dad.
We have doubled our wage bill over the last few seasons etc. But i don't think its down to money.
The players purchased in the Summer come from Walshy and his team so the same criteria would of been used. If a player has been bought without being watched then that's criminal.
January is the wrong time to try and buy players Huff don't come up that often.
Next summer had better be well organised and we need a long term manager in place prior to the window opening.
The problem is not bidding enough for players, if we actually offer what a player is worth we'll have a lot more chance of signing them.
i agree if that's the case but how do we know, what respected Journo's and agents say can be taken with a pinch of salt. If the player wants to come they can always ask for a transfer.

Not all players that want to leave a club force a move. Many actually have some integrity and will honour their current club unless a satisfactory bid has been received and accepted. This isn't something new, it happens all the time.
KTF - didn't Ranieri used to play the game? Not sure how anyone can intimate that he's never kicked a ball in his life, he was a professional player
