I don't see why that is "out of context" - you stated that the old players wouldn't "keep up" with today's players. I just gave you one example where that statement is ludicrous, could give you thousand's more if youe like

Couldn't tell you how fantastic bobby Moore was, never saw him play but doubt he could out sprint any of todays defenders...unless he had Mexican security guards after him...joke!

Don't recall the original remark being about how fast they could sprint. Quality defenders don't always need pace, good positioning is more useful.
I think you mean Columbian, not Mexican if you are referrign to the infamous "stolen bracelet" incident

In general, not using the exceptional like Moore, I reckon a majority of todays players are technically more adept than a majority of those available in the 60's.
I reckon only an idiot would disagree.
