Messi
Ronaldo

Rooney

Messi's still got more hair. And a lower sense of gravity.

So is much better.

That's right his talent is out of this world and he remains peerless.

Rooney tracks back thus he is superior to Messi and Ronaldo.

Messi's the cherry on top,
Ronaldo's the icing,
Rooney's the rest of the cake.

Messi & Ron have more tricks, but Ron doesn't have the work rate, and Messi is spoilt by having the best team in living memory built around him. Rooney on the other hand is pretty much a one man spine of the team (if only he was allowed to pick the ball up in the GK area )

I honestly can't think of a player in my lifetime (and I'm the wrong side of 30) that is a better 'all round player' than him.

If I were a manager in a position where I could choose any one of the 3, I'd choose Messi.

Then sell him and buy Rooney, and pocket the change.

Messi is the most naturally talented

Ronaldo is the most complete

Rooneyis the most influential and versatile

If I was a small side, Id choose Rooney or ROnaldo, never Messi

If I was a big side, Id choose any one of the 3 depending on the rest of the squad.

Messi, like a previous poster put, is a cherry on top of the icing on the cake. He wont perform unless the rest of your team is amazing, but he will be next to unstoppable if you manage this

Well when you look at the world cup messi was a lot better than rooney and ronaldo. So why you think rooney and ronaldo would be better than messi in a bad team i dont know. He would just adapt, hes a better talent, and hes also a fighter, ie grit determination, so in no circumstances would i pick ronaldo or rooney instead

Yes, because Argentina are a bad team

Milito, Tevez, Aguero, Di Maria, Higuain etc. etc.

I suppose this theory that Messi cant play without Xavi and Iniesta is a bit pointless as Messi will never leave Barca and Iniesta and Fabregas will be pplying him for another decade yet

Yes argentina are a bad team. They've got a lot of talented players but they are a complete mess, i guess you must not have seen them in the world cup or in the copa america

I know theyve been poorly managed but Messi's still surrounded by world class players.

Roanldo genuinely plays with average players. ONly Nani can be deemed good, the others woudlnt get anywhere near the Prem's top 6 line ups.

Either way theres no proof messi would be worse than ronaldo and rooney in a bad team considering their woeful performances for england and portugal

Okay, maybe bad team isnt what I meant, but they are more versatile and are more liekyl to adapt to different systems imo.

Ronaldo exelled at Sporting, United, now Real. 3 different leagues

Rooney only Everton and Untied admittedly, but hes played in some pretty average Untied sides and still exelled.

Messi burst onto the scene playing with Ronaldinho, Etoo, Deco, followed by Henry, now Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas. These are players who have won coutnless individual awards

João Moutinho is very good

Moutinho has looked good in the portuguese league.

There's a reason hes not moved to a big european club yet depsite being desperate to move himseld

barca leave messi on bench.

they draw. He is mediocre.

Like the spanish league. and aguero and silva. they are too small and not physical enough to hack it over here. Messi is also too small and would do nothing here. Oh wait

They also left Villa on the bench and left Iniesta out altogether. How does that prove Messi makes all the difference. Considering he came on and had no impact whatsoever.....

Aguero is stocky, like Tevez. Silva, admittedly, ahs suprised me

=========================

When messi starts 99% of the time they win. in his first four games he scored 6 and assisted 4. That suggests to me he without question there talisman.

The fact he is destined for another wpoty, a 3rd in a row, sorta suggests he is head and shoulders above anyone. He has no equal.

Kinda getting a little of satisfaction seeing these mediocre players come to england and do quite well though, maybe people will wake up to the fact la liga is actually pretty decent seeing as their players are coming here and f-ing it up the a hole. Maybe they will now have a better opinion.

People who question messi are vastly runnning out of credible excuses. Not many things he has left to prove. He keeps this form up for another 3 years, he goes down as the greatest to play the game.

Silva was always class. Hes playing no better now in the Premier league than he did in La Liga. Statisticlaly, hes doing exactly the same

Aguero has scored a brace vs Swansea at home, a hat trick vs Wigan at home, these 2 are the favourties to go down! Hardly f-king the Premier league up the a hole!

Like I said, I will never stand down from my view that Messi is made to look better than he is playing with the 2 best playmakers in the world (2nd/3rd best in WPOTY awards), the Euros/World Cup top scorer VIlla, the best RB, the Premeir Leagues' best playmaker etc.

Minus Messi and Barca would still be the best in the world.

Says who? his legion of fanboys yet to hit puberty? every great player that comes along has a following who proclaims them the "best ever" the most recent being ronaldinho. Messi still hasnt hit the heights of maradona in both achievements and ability-wise.

That is your opinion; IMO he has reached an equal ability level, maybe even surpassed it. I mean he's replicated the amazing solo run goal a few teams. And if I'm not mistaken he's even replicated the 'hand of God' goal.

Sheesh how much flesh do you want by the pound?

Ok you clearly have some brain problems.

He has acheived more than him on the pitch.

Won more with club.

Won more as an individual.

Scores more, assists more.

As i say, he win even a fourth wpoty award and he goes down as an equal. Another few years of this then the debate ends.

I don't see how anybody can look past Messi for the best in world, and for some time.

Maradona had an aura about him and maybe a little more direct, but I think Messi is more talented, and his record when he retires will be second to non.

Matt Le Tissier, Glenn Hoddle or Paul Gascoigne.

Which was the most naturally talented English MF player we've produced in the last 30 years?
