I don't think these actions are condoned by Islam but it certainly (maybe unwittingly) has a role to play. You have people coming from a very sexually conservative culture which looks shamefully upon secs outside marriage, then placing them in a society which has no such restrictions. The result is some of the more depraved folk will look to fulfill their sexual thirst (and I'm guessing their cultural tendency to dominate women - or girls in this case) outside of the prying eyes of their own community.
I don't think it's a race issue so much as opportunism by some sick people who prey on the easiest targets.

The word "Asians" is also part of the problem. It's not sikhs, Buddhists and Hindus doing these horrible things. Nor is it Indians, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans etc.
It's time for people and the media to be specific.

Absolutely...
This was a Pakistani gang and they should be labelled as such.

It is a problem, but if the media wants to report it as "Asian" they need to actually specify "Pakistani"

Is it a Pakistani problem? Or a Muslim problem? Or a Pakistani Muslim problem? Or just a problem?

Labels and more specific labelling does nothing more than deepen the racial devide we continually say we dont want. Is a gang of white boys beating up another white boy at a night club "better" because race wasnt the issue but some equally stupid reason was given for provoking the attack? If we want racism to stop the first thing we need to do is stop prioritising the excuses, as come on does the skin colour of any of the groups involved actually make a difference to the crime commited? The answer is no. A human was attacked by other humans for a stupid reason happens every day unfortunately.
PS The example i gave is a true story and it made maybe half a paragraph in the local paper......the reason for the attack was the victim wore glasses

The bbc are just a left wing PR agency pushing their agenda
someone above mentioned fear of islamophobia, this is true that they are afraid of confronting it and i really don't know why

Because what these people did is nothing to do with Islam. They are first or second generation immigrants who have committed crime and should be punished, castrated or whatever. Look at the amount of boys abused by 'football coaches'? Is that a christian abuse gang? No, they are both a set of criminals that need to be locked away for a long time.

Look in the link I posted above under Media Reaction. Dr. Taj Hargey, imam at the Oxford Islamic Congregation paints a different picture.

with the greatest of respect he doesn't speak for the religion. My point is if a brown person does something he is either a muslim or a pakistani and if a white man abuses kids (I'm talking about hundreds of young boys being molested) it is because they have criminal tendencies. For some reason you think muslims need to apologise for criminals in the community. There are criminals in all communities. We don't have to apologise for being muslim, or do we?

Culture and religion are not the same but they do get confused for each other. It wasn't until I was twenty that I could tell the differences in most cases.
Imams have their cultural baggage.

If they beat up an asylum seeker they are just vermin
But mud would have probably preferred they been white
What is always immediately apparent and instantly voiced after a terror attack is the need for tolerance and understanding of our Muslim communities and how they must not suffer reprisals or spikes in racist behaviour despite the fact that they are not the victims of any crime the media portray them thus.
I don't need to be told to treat people fairly and respectfully whoever they are and anyone that does will not hear anyway. Journos absolving themselves of sin yet failing like the politicos to discuss all the elephants in the room.
Labelling all the youth stabbing over the last few years in. London as gang crime. I would suggest that if the statistics are examined there is clearly a major problem in sections of the black community as over 90 percent are committed by them on each other yet we call it gang related.
Many prominent black spokespersons are up in arms about stop and search figures, plenty on here talking up the black lives matter movement yet nobody in my city of London prepared to tell it how it is when it comes to stabbings and youth murders.
You want the truth you have to look a little deeper for it than BBC or national newspapers.
