My father had one.. He was very lucky. Very greatful to the donor as we owe this person a hell of a lot because we got to extend my father's life. Cannot be greatful enough.

Had very close connection with kidney transplant so fully understand.

Hope your dad has many extra years. All I would say is, sign up.

Better take care of that and protect your kidneys then.

Being diabetic doesn't stop you donating lungs, heart, Liver, skin, cornea, bone and bowls does it?

Not sure as I haven't researched into it fully but I just know you're more at risk of certain organ failures..

Everyone should be a donor. Give a family some happiness they might need.

All the best Andy Cole.

Genuine I am not, I know a relative of mine who suffers from type 1. That's how know, it's awful. As long as you eat healthy and exercise daily, it.can be managed to the level that it won't cause any further issues.

It's one of the biggest causes of kidney failure. So keep yourself well. You should sign up for the lot, let the medical professionals decide what's good to use .

If mine are not okay then I would like them to go to testing/research. Think my loved ones can wait a few days while they take what's needed.

Look at the name of the tread below this one, how weird is that.

Didn't notice that, you do know it is illegal to benefit from donating an organ in the U.K.

I have experience with kidney donation / transplant so know what his family will have gone through / know what a living donor will have gone through.
