I've just explained that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No you haven't

And if this is the explanation

Then why do American/Chinese want to invest into London?

And this time don't accuse me of deflection as your response
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're asking me why the London property market is through the roof while acknowledging that thousands of foreign property investors are buying up property in London?

Really?

Also just to confirm the average price of a beer in Manchester is 3.20 so if you x that by 8 then that gives you 25.60 which leaves you owning the bar man 5.60 🤣

London is the place to be.

It's where the jobs are, it's where the money is, it's where rich people want to invest.

Everywhere else in the U.K. is firmly in the shadow of London.

(and before anyone says it there are places in London which aren't filled with pollution and crime)

Better weather doen south. That is about it. The north beats it for everything else. Plus London is down south, that automatically makes the north better.

Dundee gets more sunshine than London

Why can't you answer my question?

I'll give you a clue; supply and demand

The only good thing about the north is the road leading to the south, that's why it's always busy.

Avoiding blatant questions with obvious answers is quite telling.

Been a northerner living in Yorkshire for 23 years before moving down south I moved back up north for 1 year and the economy was on its arise compared to the south and thus we moved back down.

It's no disrespect to the north as it's the same around the world.

I tired to get a job in Melbourne and the pay was terrible and availability was awful but moved to Sydney and got paid nearly twice as much and had huge amounts of offers sent my way

London is overcrowded!! I have tried to love it, but I actually hate big cities in general!

My favourite part of the south is Hampshire, very beautiful!

North-
You can get a seat on a train
You can actually get out of 2nd gear in your car
You can walk 20 yards down any street without being badgered for spare change

Mmmmm doesn't sound familiar to my northern experiences

Let's go back to your original post, you claim Londoners could comfortably live in London and the north, but for how long?

Londoners are gradually being squeezed further and further out as they can't afford to buy there so do you mean them people or the millionaires/billionaires who are currently snapping up investments?

I actually agree with you in part on this as there is a big gap in pay around London where those can afford to just live but are lucky enough to have property before the price boom but then you have those who can afford several properties in London and Surrey Hills

I dont know why London is so appealing to people, who would want to pay a stupid price for a studio flat and become part of a rat race

posted on 7/4/17

It the economical centre of the Uk and one of the power houses in business around the world and thus people go there to get noticed and progess careers but leave once they have made it and run buisness from commuting areas such as Sussex

Dont go to England very often but the North of England seems like a wasteland that has been neglected but the Tories

London is the south. There's nothing else there
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Try Devon or Cornwall.
If you have a car with a steering wheel you'll need to get on the M5!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good tip- but those places are in west London.

If you're a Londoner living in London why do you need to buy?

Your point is more appropriate for a northern person trying to buy property in London

Yes but the North FFS ! - Why would anyone want to go there, it's full of bloody Northerners for a start

What about the next generation, and the one after that?
In years to come, families in Essex, Suffolk and Hertfordshire can say "my grandad was from London"

I'm a London boy and I love the place. Pubs, bars, restaurants, historic buildings, galleries, warmer weather, loads of hot women..,

Property prices are a facking joke though. I'm going to have to buy outside of London as I can't afford to buy where I grew up

Mum's house has just been valued at £1,050,000 !

So do you want a ban on inward investment into the UK?

The rules are very simple, you can either afford to buy or you can't. There are things called mortgages and renting though.
