Keane for me. We have the makings of a good side, but we need someone to pull it all together. Keane would focus the dressing room, get a bit more out of the senior players and also ensure that the kids didn't get too comfortable and pushed themselves. Scholes is the better player, but we need Keano more at the moment. Him, Herrera and Pogba would be a good midfield, as I think that Herrera would spark off him (same attitude) and Pogba's lack of worth/team ethic wouldn't be tolerated.

I am well aware of Keane's gifts but what we lack in the current team, Keane would not provide. Has Keane with his leadership and hectoring inspired the Irish team to unseen heights.
We just dont have anyone in the team to control the tempo of matches, his probing passes and intelligent use of the ball. We also don't have nearly enough goals from CM. Scholes would also make players around him better.
Keane would not automatically turn Fellaini into Xavi. Besides, in this era, the players would either ignore him and with Keane's pugnacious personality, he would be getting sent off most matches.

This!!!!
Yes, Keane was an amazing leader, however he was not leading the likes of Pogba and Lingard. He had men in Vida, Rio, Evra- these guys were leaders themselves. This idea that Keane would turn the fortunes of our team because of his leadership is one I disagree with. Times have changed and I would argue you necessarily don't need a Keane in today's football to win trophies.
Only Rio played with Keane.

In this team: Keane.
If I was picking a team and had a choice of two players at any stage, and they were Scholes and Keane, I'd always choose Keane.
I just preferred him. But I rated Keane as one of the best players I've seen, for all round contribution.
Irwin was a 7/10 Fergie said. I'd say Keane's average performance rating is 8.5.
With him in the team, I was always confident we'd win.
Keane would not automatically turn Fellaini into Xavi.
_______________
If we had Keane then Fellaini would not get a game. If we had Scholes instead then Jose would probably partner him with Felly!
That's reason enough to choose Keane imo...
Keane would not automatically turn Fellaini into Xavi.

I think if we played The Lord God Almighty at DM, and David Copperfield at CM, between the two of them they still couldn't turn Fellaini into Xavi.
With him in the team, I was always confident we'd win.
________
Me too. I was far more concerned about losing Keane for the CL final in 1999 than losing Scholes.
However, I think it is worth clarifying which version of Scholes (and Keane for that matter) that we are talking about.
The older Scholes was great at dictating tempo and long range passing etc. The younger Scholes was more of an attacking player who would get into the box at every opportunity.
Thus, I think it is a bit misleading to say that Scholes would do all of those things at the same time because he never did. When he transformed into a deep lying play maker his goals all but dried up...

Good point. However, I just feel in this current team, Scholes would offer more. Significantly.
The Lord God Almighty was at fault for giving Groot a head like Kryten from Red Dwarf.
The ball seems to ping off it in any direction but the one intended.
Keane would cut out the social media and dabbing nonsense from the likes of Pogba and Lingard. He would make sure they weren't having fun, which is how it should be. He was great at turning average players into great ones too, which is why Ireland were so amazing when he was in the team
Wasn't just down to Keane Analog, we'd plenty of talent in that side and did well in 2002 WC without Keane.
