Lukaku's recent performance against us may well have shown Jose a good reason not to sign him.

Bale has been one of my fave players over the past few years and have wanted to sign him since 2011 but I think he's much too injury prone to sign nowadays.

Ironically he might become available in a swap deal with DDG now but too late to be amazingly useful unfortunately

Maybe Martial too but I think Jose hasn't decided on it yet and a strong finish to the season from Martial might make Jose sit up and take notice

Mata? Hope not. Not convinced Shaw will still be here either given recent events. Reckon Jose thinks he can do better. That would be quite a few off the wage bill.

Possibly. A lot better is short of good enough in my book, but jose's comments (as out of order as they seemed) have seemed to have got a reaction.

Robb, do you have any sense that Mata doesn't follow the manager's orders? The amount of game time he has been given suggests there's no problem. I'm not 100% convinced he's safe though. He's a wonderful player but I have a feeling that the lack of pace does mean there are conceivable upgrades in the context of the Mourinho blueprint for the idea team dynamic.

As for Shaw, I kind of get the same feeling, that the criticism was tough love rather than preparation to get rid. Mourinho didn't talk a huge amount about Schneiderlin or Schweinsteiger. He hasn't said much (other than nice things) about Rooney.

I didn't mean Mata isn't following orders. He's been a pleasant surprise in Joses plans. I just think he might leave as I've seen him linked with a move to Spain. I do hope he stays though

I doubt real would swap bake for ddg, as good as ddg is, bale is one of the very best out there, would be a stupid deal for them.

Bales had a poor injury hot season.

Mata has to be one of our most lovable players of all time, doesn't he?

I mean, there were players who you loved for what they did with the ball. There were players who seemed great characters - with a great connection to the fans. Not many score so high on both counts. Maybe Evra - though (fantastic player as he was) he didn't make the stadium purr in the way Mata does.

Mata is s classy and intelligent bloke, in a sea of self serving men-child's.

Whatever happens next season we do need more players scoring goals for the team..

Zlatan, for all the criticism he's had of late, has been our only regular goalscorer and addressing how we can get more of the team scoring, rather than getting a striker in scoring all the goals, is the key thing IMO.

We need a couple more players scoring at a similar rate to Mata and Mkhi and we need a bit more from Rashford and a lot more from Martial. If we can get that, and add a 20 goal striker, we'll be well set IMO.

He's more than that. He's one of our best players too. Still our 3nd highest scorer this season. He just needs to be played in right system due to his lack of physicality.

No chance we are going to release Depay, Mata, Martial, Rooney n Zlatan all within 6 months Robb.

Mata n Martial will be going nowhere. Rooney is going and i cant see Zlatan getting a deal now.

Jose has relied pretty heavily on Mata this season. He's turned to him repeatedly - over Mkhi and Rooney - when he's needed a lock unpicking, and the player has rarely let him down. He's shown great form and, as always, professionalism.

I don't think there's any way we're letting him go.

Next year the priority for Jose is probably the PL. wouldn't surprise me if most of our purchases were done from the PL its self to ensure the players can hit the ground running

I don't see how signing Lukaku n Griezmann helps us at all. Especially Rashford.

Sign Griezmann and put our faith in Marcus. The boy is special. Griezmann is the perfect foil for Rashford as he's not a traditional number 9. Could be scary good our attack.

Lukaku just means hardly any Rashford at number 9 and with Lukaku being young as well that's not a good thing. Plus Everton are going to want Griezmann type motion EU for him and he's nowhere near as good.
