Not sure I agree with the view that Chelsea's goals were luck or exceptional. The shots were but the first three goals were preventable. All made possible by mistakes.
You could argue that we were lacking in leadership when we conceded their first corner kick after 73 minutes and failed to concentrate and cover their most dangerous player.
Saturday is down to ridiculous team selection from poch and amateur play from son to concede the pen, with a couple of other awful pieces of defending for Chelsea goals

But leadership changes nothing here.....how does leadership prevent any of these goals?
None of the 'preventable' goals were glaring errors, just minor ones and they took full advantage converting 3 chances that werent even half chances.. How often do efforts like that go in? rarely ! How often do 3 efforts like that go in in the same game. Virtually never!

Come on mate no point in trying to deny it:
Son wouldn't have dived in on Moses and Hazard would have been marked if Alderweireld or Vertonghen had the captains armband on them
I thought we gave a good account of ourselves but were ultimately undone by two individual errors for the first two goals and a collective switching off for their third. A worldie then followed and that was it for us. The quality they had coming on off the bench was decisive too.
Not having a "leader" on the pitch was not a deciding factor this time but it would definitely help in certain matches in certain situations if we did have such an asset.
One factor I have not seen many comments about and which must have had an effect on the whole squad and management was the tragic death of Ugo Ehiogu. It may or may not have had an effect on the result or performance but everybody's state of mind must have been adversely affected. The two days leading up to the game must have been awful for all concerned and will be felt by many of the players and staff for quite a while yet.
Such a backwards English mentality to say that we 'lacked leaders' because we lost the game. Such a boring cliché whenever a team loses that completely ignores actual factors
