Yeah who needs goals

Goals are important. But he's a midfielder primarily. Him scoring goals is a bonus rather than his focus. The guy isn't a striker.

what a mean-spirited, poor article.

two seasons running he's managed 20+ goals and assists combined in the PL. if you can find me a list of 5 players who have managed that over the past decade at his age then i'll change my mind. in fact, find me 3 and i'll agree with you.

until then i'll remain a fan...baaa.

he's better than ozil though

Better than Ozil?
This is exactly what I was referring to.
Simpletons cannot differentiate between a budding young player who's in a good spell of form playing for a very good young manager to a world class player who plays for an old stale manager.

He plays almost as a second striker so goals are very important for him and the team. He's our secondary source of goals

He is a very good player. I was skeptical but his end product is undeniable.

Obviously he's not on the level of an Ozil or a Zidane, but he could become an elite player.

He plays basically as a second striker and does it brilliantly.

I appreciate that. But whenever I see him If he's not scoring I fail to see what else he adds to the team.
His general play is pretty average. Not particularly quick, not a great dribbler or a passer.
Has no outstanding attribute.
Kinda reminds of a poor man's Muller.

I think he is a smart player like Muller

His end product over a season means you have to play him. His general play isn't close to the other top no 10s in the league, that's a given. Eriksen is a far better footballer in terms of close control and passing

He does take up good positions between the lines though, and is good at drawing fouls. His passing and dribbling aren't great, but neither are they a liability of his like, say, someone like Walcott

That might be because you look at football in the way a 7 year old would. Dribbling and running fast are all that's important to you. There's a lot more to football than that, I suggest you start learning about the game before you start wasting your time writing absolute ballacks like this!

Think the response to this article proves the OPs point. Dele Alli isn't immune to criticism. He's not a perfect player. The same people will jump all over any flaws someone like Sterling has though

Am sure if he has an alright game against Barcelona one day the Arsenal fans will love him

Where did I say dribbling and running is all that is important to me? Care to point it out?

I made a perfectly valid point. Alli does not have any tangible qualities.
One would think I put down Messi or even insulted your father.
Very strange.

Okay let's put his 20 goals to one side and look at his 11 assists instead

posted on 28/4/17

The numbers he is getting at his age u will struggle to find any English player to match him. But I think alot of his success has been down to Dembele and I think Alli knows this and that's why he won't leave Spurs.

You have to balance stats with actual ability.
People been watching football for years and they struggle with that simple concept.
That and confusing form with ability.

You've put he's a midfielder playing as an attacking midfielder.

He actually more of a second striker for us but he played an advanced role at MK either as the attacking CM in a 3 or as a behind striker role towards the end of his time.

His dribbling is good, he's control is good, he's skilful and that's ATM and only likely to go up another level or two

Then we get to his creativity which is good and his shooting which is probably his biggest area to improve for me as he misses some easy chances yet still scores an incredible amount because his awareness, vision and movement is exceptional.

All in all the praise he's getting is very justified especially when you see the hype others are getting
