OK, I read the article. The only argument the guy uses is you shouldn't feel sorry for Mourinho because you didn't feel sorry for Van Gaal. He ignores the improvements in play style under Mourinho, the fact that Mourinho's top 4 rivals are stronger than Van Gaal's were last season, the fact that last season was Van Gaal's second season in charge etc.

No not really.

Our aim at the beginning of the season in the leavue was getting back into the CL. We mah achieve that, or its at least in our hands to do so. We got to the league cup semi final, which isn't bad. However how we went out of the FA Cup was disappointing. We also need tp sort ourselves out defensively and when playing against teams that sit back. We've still got issues to address. But on the whole progress is being made.

If United finish the season outside the top 4, and with a league cup trophy would that be seen as progress? Especially given the money spent, who the manager is and given the discontent about style of play? All 3 are similar to complaints about LVG.

If we don't then it will be a worse season that the one that saw LVG sacked...

Ok first off Feet dude, I thought you and I were friends? We've known each other for a while now and I've always shown you respect. I thought i'd get the same back from you.

So have Liverpool made progress? You're 3rd currently but could easily still finish 6th. Also Man Utd and Man City and probably even Arsenal have much more potential for growth than Liverpool do. They're bigger clubs in the modern day and will be able to attract better players CL or no CL. So even if Liverpool do finish top 4, they probs won't next season.

And Man Utd have made progress. Improve play style, total transition in play style too which meant results always were going to be inconsistent. But improvements have been made and Man Utd will probably win 3 trophies as well which is more than Liverpool have won in the last decade probably.

Can we stop talking about the Charity Shield as a trophy please? Honestly, Jose gets as much credit for winning that as LVG got for winning the FA Cup!

If arsenal finish 6th and no trophy = bad season. Finish 4th and win FA Cup = good season.

Liverpool finished 3rd = amazing season (according to their fans). Finish 6th = bad season.
