For someone who is woeful at crossing the ball he has the most assists out of any defender this season (5).
He has also been our best player this season.
Short memories
There does seem to be something up with Walker, not quite at the standard he has been at so far this season.
If his head has been turned and in the middle of a superb title chase he's distracted then i think we can safely say his heart is not in it and he needs to be sold. If you cant show commitment at a time like this then when can you?
To counter this, when Poch is crossed more often or not the player does not even see the bench, and often the first team squad. Walker has been benched, you could say his form and Trippiers is justification for this, and reward to Trips for some decent showings. The fact Walker makes the squad, and bench at least, perhaps shows that the reasons behind his dropping may be straightforward and not due to a player mutiny.

Walker in the team - He's great. Best in the league
Walker on the bench - Meh. Trippier is better anyway
Trippier is a good player. Just Walker is better it's as simple as that. I think it is good for us that we can alternate full backs without many repercussions.
I would go as far as saying Walker has been our best player this season he's turned into the best RB in the league by a distance and is probably in the top 3 or 4 performers for us this season.

If Barce / Bayern are looking for a new RB Walker could well be top of their lists..Juve as well with an aging Dani salves and Lichtensteiner
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny Salves.
Thr driest skinned player in world football
It will be a disaster if we lose walker.
Although out of all our players you could easily see him getting his head turned as he has a massive ego.
Hopefully we don't sell
pretty sure hes off. all the signs point to a falling out of some kind.
if he goes then he should command a big fee (possibly world record for a full back), and then we can get a replacement and hopefully have some left over.
personally I like trippier though... improving all the time

been dropped for no clear footballing reason
stories in the press
couple of people that I know with reasonable links to the club have mentioned it (exact words were hes definitely off, probably city or barca). I don't put much weight on that kind of hear-say alone, but when coupled with the above it makes it more believable.
personally I reckon he will be the only player from our first 11 that will go.
Considering he had played almost every minute before the Chelsea game I would argue that is footballing reasons for him to a rest near the end of the season.
Press gossip, thought you were better than that.
"People that you know" lol.

what are you on about.
and he would have played at least one of the Chelsea / arsenal game... so you telling me he hasn't been dropped? so hes played, and been very good all season, and suddenly gets dropped for trippier for our two biggest games of the season?
ok mate.
as for "press gossip", or gossip in general, I made it clear that it wasn't that alone, but that in tandem with other factors.........
my personal opinion is that he will probably go. I might be wrong, I might be right. ultimately no one in here knows for sure, so everyone is just saying what they think will happen.
personally I reckon hes more likely to go than stay.

____________
Would he have? If Davies was dropped for Chelsea then what is to say the same thought process was used for Walker?
Maybe Poch thought a player who had played almost every game this season was more important in our tough away games, Palace & Leicester, than the Arsenal game sandwiched in the middle. Lets not pretend the Arsenal game is one of the biggest of the season ffs.
I think Eriksen is most likely to go though, annoyingly.

Will quit Spurs if he does
But Barca will go in for him I reckon.
Which is why I pray he has a craaaaaaaaap end of season (but we still do well) and Coutinho steps up.

Or maybe just do what that Chelsea fan does with mourinho and go support what ever club he's at
Genuinely laughed in the office there <wahl>
In the grand scheme of the title hunt - where we have to win every single game - Arsenal at home is no bigger a game than Palace or West Ham away.
Walker played in the week, and if he - as I think he will - starts on Friday this is confirmation of a coach using his players responsibly to keep them fresh for the run in.
The biggie there is the semi, but Poch has been loyal to Trippier in the FA cup. We may not agree with it, but Vorm wouod have probably started too if fit.
If Trippier starts we know there is friction
`Mountains out of mole hills` spring to mind
No key player will leave, unless Poch wants rid.
The way Poch deals with this stuff is extraordinary. Benching him and demonstrating that Trippier can do the same job.
Compare to Arsenal, who if reports are to be believed, have Ozils agent demanding 300,000 a week
If Walker leaves he will get a lot more money wherever he goes. Levy's tight purse strings may have to be loosened to keep Pochettino and some of his best players at spurs. That's a fact.
As for Trippier being as good as Walker, well that's laughable. Maybe Poch can improve Trippier, but Walker can improve too.
I had my doubts about this Newspaper piece, but I'm beginning to think there may be something toit.
