You've either not read the thread, or you're just out for a ruck. Whatever, I've got to go home now, sorry I can't oblige.
Yes, it does sound like UEFA are to blame. Although, like most rules it's really only brought in because people trambled over existing rules. Someone will come up with something else, I'm sure.

He can tell his betrothed about the narrow escape with some northern ruffians who attempted to engage him in verbal fisticuffs.
I actually thought mine had gone down a bit (not a lot). I thought I paid £850 last year down to £820. But maybe I'm mis-remembering.
If you're all set and happy (or willing) to spend £700, and do it every season, and can't pay any more for it, then I'd try and sit somewhere else if I were you.
I know you get to know people sat around you, but you can make new match day neighbors.
When the first game of the season kicks off you'll regret it instantly.

I think I'd be ok just about anywhere on tier 2 or 3. Don't like tier 1 so much and definitely don't like being too close to the rain. It is Manchester after all.

What is wrong with you people?
Moving is a bit hit and miss.
I moved seats 2 seasons ago and hated the people I was sat next to, I've now moved back to my original seat.
I've been able to get to more and more games every year for the last 5 or 6 years, probably get to around 12-15 home games a season in all competitions (mainly league).
I've not had a ST since I was 16, and have been debating whether to get one again the past few years given how many games I go to anyway.
One thing that puts me off though is that some of the matches I've been to just as a member, and sat in different places, I've been sat nearby complete idiots, and have actually stopped me being able to enjoy the match because I've been biting my tongue so much.

I had a full on high volume match commentary guy straight behind me. Fortunately he moved. Otherwise pretty good crowd where I sit. You're never that far from a nobhead at a football match tho.

This.
Sometimes it's so infuriating though and can really sour the experience.
Had a guy behind me the other week yelling instructions out telling players who to pass to that just didn't mirror in any respect what was going on at the time, it made zero sense the stuff he was chatting.
Tempted to take ear plugs in my coat pocket just in case I end up near someone like that again or my headphones
I remember one bloke at Maine Road that used to shout "C'mon City this is sh!t!" straight after kick off every single game. Admittedly he was mainly right, but still...
We used to have grand dad gobsheyite sat behind us, east stand level 3, the most negative fan I have ever heard.

He really is obsessed with me, it's starting to get creepy.
Does he sit there waiting for his moment to mention me all day or something.
Gobbled get help!
clubs should have a loyalty system in place and reduce season ticket prices for fans who have continuously brought it years, say if a fan brought a season ticket for 20 years straight once they hit certain checkpoint years ,5,10,15,20 etc they should be dropped in price, how many clubs have season ticket holders that have tickets for that long? if a few thousand were paying massively discounted prices because of loyalty would any other fan begrudge them, I don't think so
The problem with that is the people who can most most afford it (the over 40's) pay the least.
i get what your saying, but if your going to the games for 15-20 years why shouldn't you be paying less, its not about who can afford it, you cant say season tickets are 700 pound for fans on 50k a year whilst season tickets for people on 20k a year are 350pound please bring wage slips and id as proof, its about loyalty, the longer you go the more you should get off, be rewarded
I've now renewed but I've gone back to Gold from Platinum as I don't think the extra points £50 will buy me will make any difference.
