are you mad? power plays can lose you wickets too, hence why eng didn't take the power play untill late.

Did India lose any wickets in the powerplay? no. If you want to win the game you have to take a few risks. With 3 fielders outside the circle instead of 5 this was a perfect opportunity for him to take advantage and score a boundary or 2 per over.
What's the point in taking the powerplay if your not going to attack and be content with taking singles.

What an idiot.

Agreed. Clearly not a cricket man.

How am I an idiot? did any of you see how India played in there Batting Powerplay? all other teams would have at least attempted to score 1 or 2 boundaries in the powerplay overs.
It is not rocket sciene now is it? you do not take the powerplay to score 6 runs and over when at the time the required run rate was 8.

I agree with you Arsenal , couldn't believe my eyes. Here you have a man sitting in his 80s trotting around for singles with the team jester. This despite rain threatening play and little to no tail left.

England have to find someone who can give the ball a fair thock like Raina.

England were playing for the duckworth Lewis result & were going along fine.

If the rain would have stayed away they were on course for victory so what's the problem?

teams shouldn't rely on duckworth lewis when they are in a decent position to win the game properly without relying on that.
Also in terms of fairness the game should have continued with just 7 balls to go.

''England have to find someone like Raina''.
Why? When we've got Peterson and Morgan in the locker room?

posted on 11/9/11

you can't play cricket in weather like that, infact they shouldn't have been playing before when both Bopara & Swann were out!

England were in a comfortable position & Bopara played a blinder!

You have to give India something! even if its a tie. They can go home now with their heads held high..

Is that the same Indian team that haven't won a game yet on this tour?
Yeah, why criticize them when it is much easier to criticize the very player who nearly made a 100.

Stick to football ,and I suggest you have enough to worry about with your team there? The keeper gifted you a goal today, and boy oh boy did you need one. Cricket is not your strongest subject.

Yes but India did bat well today so you must give them credit where due. They are also World Champions are are missing a lot of key players such as Yuvray Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Gambhir, Sehwag. That does also explain why they have been poor this series too.
How is Cricket not my strong point? I have been following the game for 13 years. Just because I say something people don't agree with does not mean my knowledge is limited thank you.

Ohhh and I am also confident Arsenal will finish in the top 4 this season. End of day how many players did we have out against Man U? we still had no Song, Gervinho, Wilshire and Vermalean yesterday and we won and deserved the win.
The keeper may have gifted us the goal but what a finish from Arshavin.

How does that make me clueless? we have been finishing in the top 4 since 1996/1997. The season does not end after 4 games you know. I also believe in supporting my team and being optimistic.

We had several key players missing against Man U and Liverpool and we will get back into form now.

Man U, Man city and Chelsea will finish top 3 and I believe Arsenal will finish 4th. It will be close between Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs though.

Legendary?! I'd stick to football if I were you, your choice of language is more suited to the terraces.

I'm with Arsenal on this one, i think Bopara was pretty sloppy. There is something about this guy that just doesn't ring quite right, like it does with such as Morgan. I have said b4 he looks class but he also looks clueless like he is one step behind everyone else as to where the game is. And sloppy is a word I'd use as well.

Bopara looks class for three balls an over and like a tail ender for the other three.
6 half centuries in 69 games tells a story.
Having said that in test matches Bell suffered from being shuffled up and down the order and improved when he had a regular position. Bopara has had similar problems in ODI games.
