Rogic will never stay fit, and Armstrong is better in a more advanced role, so there is still a spot next to Brown (unless Bitton, Eboue or Ajer is the answer).

I can also definitely see us replacing Forrest especially if we can't get Roberts back.

He'll be looking for a good striker knowing full well the vultures will be circling for Dembele in the summer again and that Griffiths isn't someone for the CL.

I think he'll be after a centre half and we will sell Erik in the summer.

I also think he'll look to bring in a quality winger (hopefully Roberts) a midfielder and possibly a striker.

BR has been vocal about us being far down the line with a few so I'll be surprised if a few signings aren't done by the end of this month.

Isn't it just exciting to think that when we get linked with these types of players that we actually stand a reasonable chance of landing some of them?

Mine what it used to be like?

When BR did that fan forum a few months ago he spoke about a top class "number 10", a centre half and a third striker

If Paddy doesn't return, it is logical to assume he will also look to strengthen that position (although someone like Solanke could play striker or wide player)

Mick - in that same forum, BR talked about Stu being a "Number 8" box to box midfielder

I don't think we will go for a keeper, it's very rare clubs have two very good goalkeepers as the chances of them being injured are remote.

De Vries is fine as backup I think, especially with the form Gordon is in.

If Erik does leave in the summer then a quality CB becomes our top priority. Our defense has been ropy at CL level and caught out on so many occasions - so we need to get a solid pairing there. Jozo I think will be first choice and despite his good run of form - not sure Boyata can make the step up to CL level; however I'd be delighted if he proved me wrong!

CM / AM we have lots of cover for, as said above if Paddy leaves then we also need another pacy winger on the opposite flank from Sinclair. Would love Roberts to stay but just think he will want to take a chance at making it in England.

New Cb to replace Sviatchenko with Boyata a now more than capable back up

A CM to replace Bitton with McGregor and Rogic and more than capable back up to Armstrong and Brown

A winger to replace Roberts

What we have to remember TPR is that we are playing top teams in the CL (group stages mainly) and will get found out at times because of the dross we play week in week out in the Spfl. I think to make our league more competitive for Celtic we should play against two teams at the same time. Rangers and Partick Thistle 1 v 4 Celtic would be a better scoreline for some and less humiliating.

Good point Bubbsy. I think overall a fairer approach would be to go to two points for a win and one for a draw.

BB, we should also tie jozos and Boyatas legs together when we play teams from third place down.

I have a sneaky feeling we will buy Roberts.

If we have pretensions to compete in Europe post Christmas, we need another striker. This season we got away with Dembele and Grifftrhs being injured at the same time but would not had we still been in Europe. Plus it will give Rodgers the option of resting both (think Henry Onyekuru is still a possibility)

We could do with another Scott brown

If Izzy leaves (hope he stays as cover) then we will have a massive imbalance with 4 Right Backs (5 if you include Boyata who can play there) and only KT on the left. If Izzy does leave, that will have to be addressed

There is the young LB Stewart Steve plus Gamboa can play there but I agree.

Problem is how do you convince someone good enough to come when they are obviously going to be back up to KT

posted on 9/5/17

Wire - Gamboa did not look comfortable at LB against Thistle - Calvin Miller is playing as a forward now, Aidan McIlduff is leaving at the end of the season so, as you say, there will be plans afoot - hear what you say re back up to KT

Think we can safely say that Lee Congerton, who has now been in his job for 2 months, will be earning his corn, with Brendan and Peter demanding that he does a good job
