Your final comment is the point I am making. If we drop, they will put even less into ever more depleted coffers. Viscious circle. We need something to motivate everyone at the club, otherwise we are, as someone else said,
"Doomed, Mr. Mainwaring, We're Doomed"
Where I have been wrong is on underestimating the effect of our injury-list going into the closed season. Alex called that one correctly. I was too focused on them recovering while no football was being played.
Sadly, I think the mould for our season was set at the end of last season. I listened to Malky Mackay's ore-match. MacKay is aiming to make Cardiff the fittest team in the championship. He spoke about missing ore-season meaning that players are always "playing catch-up" when it comes to fitness.
I under-estimated the effect of this. Particularly in a squad where many players are out for varying lengths of time. It's all about keeping a stable squad.
This is why my hopes for the season are so low. With the effect of recuperation, it could be November before we start playing well enough to win a decent share of games. That will be too late unless SOD works miracles.
On the positive side, with Stocky and JOC already physically fit, the recuperation is starting. We need Mason, Sharp, Woods and Brown to join them so we have real options going forward.
8000 come because only 8000 buy tickets.
Only 8000 buy tickets for various reasons, the biggest of which is that we keep losing. Watching (or listening) to your team get beat is just no fun at all.
Sadly, Rovers have never been a club where the fans turn out through hell or high water. I think that's mainly due to being a lower league club through most of our history.
I really hope the reduced price of the Palace game results in an attendance. If it does, then we send the powers that be a message about prices. Otherwise, they will just stick with the opinion that Doncaster isn't bothered about the Rovers.
I can't wait to listen to you two in Cheswold. ha ha
so when we meeting and where abouts then gents/ladies? by then i feel we will have lost at reading aswell so there will be loads to talk about!
I think its the Cheswold about 1pm, and I've just posted I think we might sneak a win at Reading, mainly because I'm not going and we usually win on the first away match I don't go to
Quite right Donny Lass 1pm on the 24th at the Cheswold. First round on ionly ( that should stir him up a bit).
For anyone wanting to join us, ionly (Bally) will be wearing his Mayo attire and I Bally) NY will have a Milwaukee Brewers jacket on. Rovers stuff underneath.
Hi,Donnylass,I think your logic for us getting a first win at Reading is a bit wing & a prayer to say the least!I said last night,we need a goalkeeper,a striker,(or two),& a new management strategy. However,I do hope that your hopes ,(& ours),are fulfilled. If not I think SO'D's on the barbeque along with our so called summer.Other posts keep saying it's very early in the season, but my point is one point!.
I hope you lot all like Guinness. You coming Vic ? If so I shall get a taxi from someone you know
Oh Yes.. Yankee.... Try telling them that a MAYO top is Green That would help a bit. (Red collar as well) And for those who do not know...MAYO is in The Republic of Ireland
I thought they would know ionly, surprised no mention against your first round. You must be calming down in your old age.
Be nice to see a good group that day.
What's your take on the current situation Donny Lass? You seem to have been to most of the games so are better qualified than a lot of us to comment.
Do NOT make THAT mistake Yankee, you of all should know better.
I would never underestimate you ionly, just trying to warm you up. Looks like it paid off, see you in JR's box!!!!!!
Hell will FREEZE OVER first, it is lovely and warm. Remember what my tee shirt says "HELL WAS FULL SO I AM BACK"
