I think it would be a slight disappointment if we weren't better equipped having spent getting on for £50m on transfers in the last year or so plus a fair few loans.

Good point, DJ. Although the new lads may take time to adapt.
Seems to me a few are being deliberately obtuse about what we have seen this summer, our club has had a sensational summer thus far, beyond anything anyone dreamed of two months ago.

yes, so all the more annoying to possibly miss out because of having crap strikers when you've known for months that that is our weakest area
Why are we going to miss out? It is the third day of feckin august for fack sake.
If come September we have done nothing then fair enough, but I would be amazed if that is the case.
And it wasn't our weakest area, midfield was.

Dicko has already scored 14 in a season at this level.
So dicko got a knock against Shrewsbury.
One of Nuno's messages from his first press conference is to ask people to be patient. A fair message of course.
Zenga said the same and so did Lambert and so do most managers in their early days, but those two didn't get good results in their first few months and were then sacked. He can ask the supporters to be patient, but how patient will Fosun be if it doesn't start well?
I don't think Nuno will be in danger at all unless the wheels well and truly fallen off which I really don't expect.
Fosun wanted what we are seeing now last year, I don't see them wrecking it within a few months.

Was a bit mystified about Dicko, people writing him off etc. Hope he's fit soon as I fully expect him to be a major contributor this season - maybe 15+ goals

Nice interview. Softly spoken, but you can sense his strength and determination.
Dicko fit to play on Saturday if selected

New programme design by Jody Craddock. Much better than those stupid "cartoons" from last season imo.

Has anyone seriously thought about the strength we have in depth? Currently (before signing a top striker which I'm sure we will) assuming we field a first 11 on Saturday as I previously suggested, in a 3:4:3 formation, we could still field a 4:4:2 out of the leftover players.
1st 11 (3-4-3)
...........Ruddy
Miranda.....Coady.....Boly
Doc....Neves.....Saiss.......Douglas
Graham.......Bonatini.........Jota
2nd 11 (4-4-2)
………………………Norris
Ofosu-Ayeh……Batth……..Bennett………Vinagre
Costa…………Ronan………....Price……….Cavaleiro
…………………..Zyro…………….Dicko
This side would hold their own in the Champo and the squad still contains some strong names on the bench:
Burgoyne
Hause
Marshall
Edwards
Gibbs-White
Enobakhare
Mason
Strong squad? I should say so!
Aberdeen knocked out of the Europa League by tiny Apollon Limassol!!!!!
oh dear, oh dear
A strong squad on paper, GeminMallorca, however as the saying goes "football isn't played on paper". Most of those names are unproven.
I hope that you are right and we have great strength in depth, however as a long-suffering Wolves' fan, optimism is often quickly dashed, so I'll reserve judgement about how strong the squad is until they have played a few games.
I understand your reluctance tto get over excited Freddie but if you watched the Leicester game you will know what the 1st squad are capable of (with the exception of the unknown Bonatini.
With regards the 2nd 11 and subs only Ofosu-Ayeh is an unknown the rest have already shown their ability.
I am also a (very) long suffering Wolves fan but that looks like a strong squad to me.
Women go out of the Euros after a semi-final defeat.
It has all the makings of a strong squad gem and the difference in strength between your first and second teams is quite small I think. But friendlies can be deceiving and it's a cautious optimism for me.
You have Enobakhare outside your first and second teams but I wouldn't be surprised if he started on saturday
Are you Ready..........
