I think it's fair to say that Nuno has recognized the ability of some of the squad he inherited and has made the decision to let some players go who he doesn't feel will be suited to his style of playing. He's either loaned them out or sold them, which is his right as head coach.
I personally agree with him on all of the players that have now left.
I'm not sure the word scapegoat applies gb, it's more to do with opinions from posters on here on certain players at our club.
Nuno has trimmed the squad to a manageable level with maybe one or two ins and outs.
Looking at the squad he has now, only Graham and Dicko appear to be contenders for a move, although I'd rather the former stays and fights for his place.
Whatever happens, I'm sure we are in for the usual roll-a-coaster ride that goes with being a supporter/fan of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

How would you know?
You didn't even realise Edwards had already been transferred this morning, asking me directly why he wasn't in the squad.
Uh oh, Bute is upset, let's leave it guys
And so the final few days of the window......bring it on Jeff.
Why wasn't Derek Parkin in the squad, yesterday?
just as a quick summary, to help sort JA606 posters into easily identifiable groups:
anybody who doesn't recognise the positive contributions, hard work and commitment of an ex player that's been a regular for nearly ten years is a complete
anybody who doesn't recognise that the side has moved on and makes regular references to how ex players (or an ex manager) are doing in a barbed fashion when wolves don't win is a WUM
anybody who doesn't recognise that knocking ex players (and an ex manager) when they lose or wolves win thinking that they are in some way getting one over on the WUM s, or trying to argue that they were RAA, is a stupid
uncle herbert is a
now if people will declare which group they are in at the start of each post they write it will save the rest of us from reading pages and pages of the same comment from the same people for the next 9 months?
#publicserviceannouncement
You missed a few.
Anyone who cant see that a player is totally over rated is a ...............
Anyone that still raves on about ex managers and players that weren't good enough and failed at our club is a total.........
lol I lumped the second of your suggestions in with the WUM s perton
but I would question yr definition of failing at the club. ultimately, we've only had tfour years in the prem since it began. so if we are going to class those that took us to the top league as failures, every single player and manager we have had in the last 20 years would be in the same group.
I think we've got plenty of former employees who did a good job and should be given the praise and recognition they deserve for it. but that we've never had a team - including management and coaching staff - who were quite good enough to move us from prem relegation battlers into an established prem side.
also, in football there's a natural time for people to move on. just because someone leaves it doesn't make them a failure. the balck and white notion some fans have is crazy because 99% of all players and coaches in every team will be replaced at some stage without retiring.
Yes but we have kept players when they clearly arent good enough.
all teams do - every squad has players who aren't good enough for the first team, and every squad has players that aren't good enough for that club, or even that league.
even teams who win promotion, or the title, will have a number of players that aren't really quite at that level and certainly aren't good enough to step up a league. that's no reason for so called fans to abuse the player or the club. so long as everyone is working to the best of their ability then we should support them...even if that is at the same time as seeing them out the door on to their next club.
which players do you have in mind that we've kept but clearly aren't good enough for a championship club aiming for promotion?
Rumour growing about Hugill for £8m......
No thanks.
not for me either - I think reading bid that?
Looks like it isnt Soares either.

I keep hearing about players that leave Wolves and go to other championship teams and do well. Not sure how that proves they aren't good enough to play in the championship.
Reading have signed two players from Wolves that I don't think we should have sold, and they are a club that finished well above us last season and feel these players will improve them.
Is Edwards good enough to hold a first team place in a team that has spent over £30m on midfield players in the last year and signed a player from Athletic Madrid on loan? No.
Edwards has done a fabulous job for Wolves and thousands have voted for him as player of the season in recent seasons. So I don't think we should take too much notice of the minority that write drivel about him on forums.
Not sure what side of the bed you got out this morning gb, but I would like to address your lengthy surfer rant.
On both occasions during our brief time in the Premiership, not enough funds were spent on getting the right players to keep us there. Even I patted our last manager to get us there on the back and even suggested he could take us into Europe. However, it became clear at an early stage that he was not going to do it with virtually the same squad that got us there in the first place.
Why couldn't we emulate the likes of Stoke or even West Brom, who have made it and stayed there for several seasons now?
Just because players took us to the dizzy heights of the Premiership, doesn't mean they're good enough to keep us there and that applies to managers as well.
If we're really serious about getting to the premiership then we have to have the right players in the squad to do it and this season should be our best chance to achieve our goal. Nuno has indeed recognized that certain players needed to be moved on, so that he can work with those who have and can adapt to his style of play. I'm not sure anyone is suggesting that the likes of Edwards (as an example) hasn't done his bit, but we as a club have to move on if we want success.
There will always be a certain WUM on here that will constantly bring up a past managers name just to get a response, but he'll never change.
Always amusing to read what clubs we should be emulating. A few years ago I remember Portsmouth being quoted, then Charlton, maybe it should be Bolton or more recently Norwich. All of them it seemed had what it took to establish themselves as a premier league club.
As far as Wolves are concerned let's get to the top flight before we worry about being good enough to stop there
I think Witless mentions the "past manager" more frequently than I do.
I did summarise the performances of a number of games yesterday and mentioned that Fulham's win at Ipswich kept us in touch with Mick.
Then I remarked on the photo that the BBC published yesterday showing Mick's Barnsley debut, alongside Neil Warnock - the relevance being (from the BBC anyway), that here they are all these years later competing at the top of the same division.
Hardly offensive, or antagonistic, and other than that, I can't recall commenting on him for a while. I also mentioned Stale Solbakken yesterday, incidentally. Perhaps I should have referred to HIM as a "past manager", so as not to offend the disturbed, or disturb the offended.
Mick didn't compete at the top of the division last season did he? They were dreadful, but different rules i assume
As for rejoicing in taking us to the prem, not really sure why we have to ignore the fact they also took us to league one, a far more noteworthy achievement.
I don't remember those teams being quoted at all. What I'm saying is why couldn't we achieve what both Stoke and WBA have done. The reason is because we didn't invest properly in players and didn't have the right manager last time. They're simple facts, so you can ramble on all you like DJ, but you were proved wrong last time, both with certain players you supported and a manager who was out of his depth.
Looks like the record player is broke again! This can all be summarised as:
1. Mick did a great job getting us to the Prem
2. The club didn't invest enough to keep us there (permanently)
3. Mick did not always invest wisely (although a lot of us, me included, felt Johnson would be a massive signing for us).
4. The club went into a tailspin after Mick was sacked. I suspect these events were related.
5. Dave Edwards - worked hard for the team and club, was a solid enough performer in several roles and gained international recognition. He was no Messi, but never claimed to be. I suspect we'll miss him on occasion (he scored a decent number of goals afterall), but not hugely based on what Nuno looks to be building.
6. The club is moving on, perhaps we should as well?
Now, which am I? (Grumpy git today)
