5 wise Owl stars Wethers.

"Are we on our way"..... Hard to say,
I don't know what to expect.

If like Wednesday, We'd finished strong, & like them just rested players for the last, or maybe couple of games then I'd be all fired up myself full of optimism.

But to feel that way now is bordering on Blind faith in my book.
OK. So Town have sat back and 'cantered' through quite a few games of late, But the few times they have ramped up the effort and countered - We have still looked woeful trying to find the net, It hasn't exactly been confidence inspiring.

I'd aslo like to Mention the Winnal/Rhodes combo...along with Forestieri . There are some tidy attack options there for the 's. Can I suggest, Our back line will also have to perform to a far higher standard - For at least two full games - Than they have done through out the last 8 to 10 games.

I also find the 'stat' that Town have never won a 1st leg tie at home in the play-offs ! Nice info Wethers, But

Dreading this. Just got my new Virgin V6 box set up with sky sports.

Can't see owt other than a two defeats, sorry for the negativity. This was our best chance in decades and tbh, we've blown it.

Should have spent big in January and gone for it.

We've scored 56 goals all season (league) and conceded 58, says it all for me.

Home leg - 1-2
Away leg - 2-0

Sorry chaps

Leeds did the double on this lot...we did the double on Leeds ..Owls did the double on us

Strange division is this!

As long as wells and kachunga start along with izzy brown we will be fine

The pundits never ever get it right and are only talking owls and fulham which is fine by me

We have destroyed most teams this season when we are up for it and sunday will be our day

3-1 Town on sunday and 2-0 Town on wednesday

Missed the last match thread...sorry folks, tons on at the mo as selling my house is nearing completion.

Not confident about the tie at all. Can see an uninspiring draw at our place then getting an absolute tonking at Hillsborough.

Still enjoyed this season immensely. Made a great change from hoping for 50 points.

I'm really nervous about this, we've pushed for promotion all season but were not consistent enough, so this is our chance to show we are good enough.

In my opinion there can be no sitting back, we have to go for it from the start and not allow ourselves to be bullied by their physicality and diving. I mean you Forestieri ๐Ÿ˜ก

If we can get a decent lead, 2 or 3 - 0 would suit me nicely, to take to their place I might start to feel a little better.

Hope you don't mind me jumping on your match thread guys. We won't have one as I'm pretty much the only Wednesday fan on here (Kitty makes an occasional guest appearance). I'm nervous already. Can't work out if you are genuinely not expecting to win or trying to lure us into a false sense of security. Previous results go out the window and we know full well that the playoffs are a lottery. Look at last season when not many gave us a chance against Brighton. I wouldbt expect Rhodes or Winnall to start. Fletcher and Hooper seem to be the preferred pairing lately with Forestieri being eased back in after injury. Although as we are away first I would be surprised if he started as he chases down defenders. You have some good players. From what I've seen Mooy can dictate a game given the chance and that kid Brown has impressed me. How much of a miss will the keeper be? I'd take a draw if offered now for Sunday

*wouldn't be surprised if Forestieri started

Mornin' Fellas,(& Sloppy )
A bit of a 'nip' in the air this morning...10c

Sounds like we're all nervous to a degree.
Can I offer up a 'deflector' ? We'd all like to think Town will progress, Sloppy of course preferring the 's.

So how do we think those two other teams will perform on Saturday . It's at Craven, And on that basis, I think Fulham might just edge it, But I can see this being a score draw too..As is at the moment, I have a feeling it will be Reading who go through to the final at Wembley.

to add:-
Yes Fletcher ! I'd completely forgotten about him Sloppy What strike options indeed,
Every time I pick up on a positive, Like Kachunga Fit to play, Wells as starting partner, Brown back in the side, Then the reality, Fletcher-Winnal-Hooper-Rhodes-Forestieri, A negative kicks in.
I know they can't all be picked, and play at the same time, But that as I mentioned before is a formidable combo of options. Are we fluid/supple enough in defense to cope ?(Taking into account the way we've been playing lately )

Morning Folks

Thought I'd pop in and say hello before the biggest games in Towns history...HELLO!

I see we are all nervous, no need to be. All the pressure is on Wednesday, we are just a little team that should be nowhere near the top 6 with players and the budget that we have.

Yes recent form has been patchy at best but don't let that sway you. These lads knew a while back that the autos were nothing but a dream so they've been playing in 3rd gear for a while and not risking injury or suspension(except Ward)
Kachunga is back and so is ou excellent partnership with Smith down the right.
Wells will come back into the starting XI having given him a bit of time off to refresh.
Mooy and Hogg will be playing in the usual deep holding roles that has served us well all season.
Izzy Brown is getting close to full match fitness, they will be worried about his runs.
Mark my words "our boys are right up for this"

WE CAN DO THIS!

UTT!

We (the fans) really do need to go into these next two games with a positive attitude and get behind the team, no matter what. If we show any negativity at all it will transmit to the players and we don't want that. Let our positivity create a negativity for Weds, if that makes sense ๐Ÿ˜‚

I agree Wakey we've eased off these last few weeks, players have been rested and given time to recover from any niggles with these next two games in mind. I'm not looking any further than the semis at the moment, see where we are at full time Weds.

I have enjoyed this season and think everyone involved with the club has done us proud ๐Ÿ˜Š
