Keep it going Wethers, It'll be lively right through....
Starting with trying to educate my new SHAYMAN friend Walt !
Goals mean prizes, And lets be honest, Town are sheet at it ! What ? 16 in the last 18 games.
If being at home for the 2nd leg is an advantage, in front of home parochial support, Then it's a fact we have dropped the ball...
We have taken no advantage from the home tie whatso ever. compounded even more if you consider the possession count, and just two shots 'on' in 90 minutes.
I suppose we are into it now...Part II of the thread.
Fact, We have now played the 's 3 times this season... here's the cruncher, As yet, we haven't scored a goal ! They've managed three past us,
Going off that, Is it fair to say, TOWN have improved defensively, (I'd say yes) But still have no idea how to break 'em down, So no change from an attack perspective.
One thing that I see watching the two sides, When Wednesday do decide to come forward, They do it far quicker with fewer passes than we do. That was glaringly obvious in the 1-0 at ours earlier in the season.
Yesterday from my point of view, (it would be interesting to know what a neutral thought) Our game was laboured & after 60 minutes of the same methodical build up, predictable That would have been at a stage in the game where another option would have been implemented, Instead we got more of the same.
I for one don't think Sloppy & Kitty are 'gobbing off' suggesting the 's will take a different approach for the 2nd leg. It would be inevitable, wouldn't it ?
0-0. We are still in it, But for me it's become a whole lot harder, The Universal call from all clubs demanding a 'home 12th man' is because it works.
And on that equation, Hillsborough will be a home advantage. Lets at least agree on that,
I too have everything 'crossed' & eagerly await to see what happens, But that's hardly confident expectation. There is a difference.
Did Wagner learn NOTHING watching the Shaymen on Saturday That's the way to do it.
Anyway Walt, As your carer I think I should be taking you out for a breath of air in your chair....
Now. Where's that 4 king STEEP HILL !!!!!
The result..
Too tight to call. Our defense is just as solid as their's, It's literally all darn to who can score that elusive goal
As for "Darn's got the final thread" Thanks for the command Wethers But my gut feeling at this stage is... I may have already done my last thread for this season
Although I'll be delighted if I'm required to do ..............
JUST ONE MORE,
Set 'em alight the Blue & White.
We'll give Walt three choices, Vote 1 for :-
Castle Hill.
2 for Kilner bank....
3 for Ainley Top,
Any last requests Walt ?
& no no no, The are all gone, Unless our mates saved you one ! You've as much chance of that, as Town scoring Wednesday night.
I vote '2' Kilner bank, There's a sharp bend & a stone wall at the bottom
(Good info there for Sloppy & Kitty )
Town have never won the home leg in our many a playoff campaign...yet plenty of promotions
At this level home advantage means nowt...plenty of away games won this season in front of 30k plus crowds
Keep the faith..Town never take the easy route!
2006...away win at barnsley first leg...stuffed at home!
Unless they get an early goal their crowd will start moaning
Good point Walt..
The 1st goal.
If we can bang one in (Quaner- LV69 )
early, It's all so suddenly different.
And that equation is definitely an kick starter to the 'home crowd will start moaning" suggestion
They're Yorkshire folk like us !
They WILL Moan
I may have been over critical yesterday, because it is a fact, The pressure was relentless and nigh on all one way, The Owls will have to have a major rethink & tactical turn around to be able to do anything different on Wednesday.
I want TOWN to pound 'em again, But I'd like to see us having a crack through their central defense when we get within shooting range, Going darn through the channels is fine, But lets have a little variety and lots more shots peppering their keeper, and make him work for his corn.
This is, I have to say where Mooy excelled when he won honors with Western Sydney Wanderers, Well forward, picking up loose balls.
Lets face it, They (the 's) won;t be geared up for such an attacking option from TOWN.
Nowt to lose, all to gain. It's worth the gamble.
A big thumbs up to the home support yesterday,
The Locals certainly came good and played their part.
Now .....
All we are saying.... Is give us a Goal
L V...... Mooy was outstanding yesterday
I can't disagree with a lot of what has been said about yesterday. You showed us what you had got, but couldn't score. It wasn't pretty, but we did what we had to do
Your support was amazing too, we only got a few chants in when you were coming up for breath - no point in using up energy when you are outgunned
I'm always hopeful of a victory at home, but we always say "This is Wednesday and owt could happen" - we'll only be thinking we're safe at 4-0 up 2 minutes to go.
Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately kitty only utg of our online community were able to get tickets
The bloke i sit next to every home game has also been to every single away game and he too hasnt got one...he,s proper gutted!
Its a cup game and both clubs should have seen sense and given decent allocations...the biggest game for me in 40 years watching town and i am forced to watch it on the bloody telly
My sister got a ticket. Someone offered her £60 for it. She said no chance.
At least you can have a beer and hide behind the settee Waltz
Us poor sods at the game have to watch the dream/nightmare unfold sober and with nowhere to hide
I'm not even listening, let alone watching... I'll nip into the score every few mins.

I was surprised to half of your end behind the goal covered up with advertising - that must be galling for the home fans surely? Why didn't you sell them for home fans and give us the whole of the opposite end?
We've been there before, answer.... it sounds sh¡te. No atmosphere, temporary seats that are just crap.
Because the NSL North Stand Loyal, next to the away fans have been superb all season.... Perhaps the stay awayers are saving for Wembley.. 😉
Correct me if i,m wrong but under fa cup rules you have to give a percentage of capacity to the visiting club?
Its not a bog standard game its a promotion cup tie and its not within the spirit of the game to do this....Both clubs have got it wrong imo and should make sure it never happens again!
Tbh i blame the efl...they shuda said look its a cup tie you give x amount of tickets and thats that
Owls fans selling tickets for 100 quid
It's not a cup tie though, the match is not under the jurisdiction of the FA but the Football League.
Under fa cup ticketing rules each club can have 15% of the home capacity!
So wednesday should have got 3675 at the Jss
And Town 5800 at hillsborough
We know it isnt!!!
Its a promotion playoff cup tie!!
2000 tickets in a ground that holds 39000 ffs
Should have given us more, then we could have reciprocated
Anyone found to have sold on their ticket above face value risks being banned from the ground for life.
