To say I'm critical of Cohen, I'd say he's earnt another year with us, even if it's just for the shift he put in against ipswitch.

It did keep us up after all

Cohen always looks like me playing footie in the street.

His look always says either "feck me there's a car coming" or "I can't believe I'm playing football with this knackered body".

Top attitude / lad...even if he is passed his best.

Giving Chris Cohen a new contract is an absolute no-brainer. I'm not saying he is a world beater but just think about the alternative. Would you rather have another season with Kasami in midfield? Even Matt Cash, as promising as he is doesn't get in the team ahead of him and rightly so.

It is clear that the skipper is well respected by the rest of the squad so what would their reaction be if, after ten years service, the club said to him thanks but you can look for another club.

He would run through brick walls for the club he obviously has a lot of affection for.

We need more like Chris Cohen

He is a good influence to have for the younger layers. Doesn't have an agent so shows that you can make your own way in the game. I don't believe he is quite finished yet. I reckon he could have a storming per season and really show more of the old Cohen next season. Could be one of Warburton's key signings.

Sensible decision, he'll be better next season when he's had an uninterrupted training regime this Summer.
